Job Purpose
To ensure timely replenishment of stocks at coastal locations by proper planning, close coordination with ship ops and locations, optimisation of operational costs, minimum demurrage implication and optimum inventory management to achieve overall profitability of the organisation .
- Supply and vessel planning execution: Prepare M+1 vessel plans based on rolling demand, current voyages, product availability and laycan requirements; coordinate with stakeholders for product confirmation, monitor vessel execution from Vadinar, track voyages through load and discharge ports, and plan single/two-port rotations to improve turnaround and vessel utilisation.
- Inventory management at coastal locations: Ensure timely replenishment and optimum inventory levels at coastal locations by coordinating unloading plans with locations basis linkage, transit time and current inventory; monitor product movement and transit time, prioritize critical locations and prevent dry-outs due to product non-availability.
- Operational coordination: Coordinate with Ship Operations, terminals, depots and coastal locations for timely berthing, vessel loading, berth availability, discharge sequencing and safe receipt of product, ensuring smooth execution of the supply plan without duplicating vessel planning and inventory responsibilities.
- Demurrage prevention and vessel cost optimization: Plan vessel loading and discharge sequencing basis ullage, demand and port constraints; prioritize voyage-chartered vessels appropriately, coordinate with stakeholders for timely operations at load and discharge ports, and minimize idle time, placement cost and demurrage exposure.
- Quality assurance during receipt and discharge: Ensure quality testing and checks are carried out as per IQCM before discharge, during discharge and post receipt at location; coordinate with relevant stakeholders for timely resolution of any quality deviations.
- Quantity monitoring and vessel performance review: Ensure proper ullaging and gauging at vessel and shore ends before and after discharge; monitor receipt quantity variations, bunker surveys and vessel performance after voyage completion and at each discharge port.
- MIS and reporting: Prepare and circulate daily MIS on coastal stocks, vessel plans and vessel updates; coordinate with depots, ZCs and MOICs for timely receipt of information and monitoring of monthly depot MIS.
- Management inputs for planning cycles: Provide inputs for ABP/MPR on time-chartered and voyage-chartered vessel requirements, coastal depot tankage requirements and coastal planning assumptions to support management planning and decision-making.
- Process improvement and system enablement: Drive implementation and workflow design for N-Connect rollout for IB indent management, and support upgradation or enhancement of SAND/SAND-Pro and SCM tools for linkage planning and optimal indent execution.
- Ethanol handling and loss monitoring: Monitor ethanol receipt loss/gain trends basis weighment discrepancies, analyse underperforming vendors/TTs basis receipt quantity data, and coordinate with the Bio-fuels team for ethanol supply aligned to depot inventory, upliftment and blending percentage.
