Position : Employee Relations Specialist

Report to Title : Sr. Manager, Human Resources-Employee Relations & Compliance

Location : California, Clark St

Date : March 2025

Position Overview

The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for fostering a positive work environment by managing employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with labor laws, promoting company policies and supporting HR initiatives that enhance employee engagement and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers regarding workplace concerns, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints, conflicts, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolutions.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, FLSA regulations, and company policies.
  • Ensure the company adheres to federal, state, and local labor laws regarding working hours, meal breaks, and rest periods.
  • Review the functionality and accuracy of timekeeping software.
  • Work closely with leadership in the administration of the company’s attendance policy.
  • Conduct regular audits on timecards, overtime, meal breaks, and paid leave to prevent discrepancies.
  • Develop time & attendance analytics to track workforce trends
  • Leverage analytics to optimize time & attendance tracking and compliance
  • Provide guidance on company policies, employment laws, and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Track and analyze employee relations trends to recommend improvements and preventive measures.
  • Assist with policy development and updates to align with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Facilitate training sessions on topics such as conflict resolution, workplace ethics, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Maintain confidential records of employee relations cases and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Work closely with the HR and production teams to manage workforce challenges such as absenteeism, and employee engagement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, workplace regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust.
  • Conflict resolution and mediation skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Workday)
  • Bilingual (Preferred): English/Spanish spoken by the workforce in the manufacturing facility.
  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000/yr
