About The Role

  • UE05: £ 29,588 - £ 33,951 per annum
  • CMVM / School of Regeneration and Repair
  • Full-time: 35 hours per week
  • Fixed-term: 1 year

The Opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Technician grade UE05 to join the EXPPECT Team, a multidisciplinary team advancing research into patient-centred management of pelvic pain. The position is based within the Centre for Reproductive Health located within the Institute for Regeneration and Repair at the Edinburgh BioQuarter working closely with the clinical team within the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

The individual will work as a member of the team with responsibility for recovery and evaluation of clinical samples. They will provide technical support to the Team’s Post Doc using a variety of laboratory techniques They will provide technical support to students, scientists and clinicians and will ensure research areas and resources are well managed.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), due to the unpredictable nature of the sample collection flexibility in the working day will be required.

Your skills and attributes for success

  • A MSc degree in a life science related subject
  • Relevant laboratory work experience
  • Experience working with human clinical samples
  • Hold a GCP certificate
  • Vaccinated against HepB for working with human samples
  • Significant experience in standard laboratory techniques including molecular and histological evaluations
  • Willingness to work flexible hours
  • Understanding of human reproductive systems
