Assistant Accountant

Southstar S.A., a leading company in the recycling and circular economy sector, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its Finance Department at the company’s headquarters.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of financial processes. This role requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively within a structured and dynamic environment.

• Supporting the daily operations of the Accounting Department
• Recording and reviewing accounting entries and financial documents
• Processing supplier invoices and accounting transactions
• Performing supplier, bank, and account reconciliations
• Assisting with monthly closing procedures and financial reporting
• Supporting myDATA processes and electronic invoicing procedures
• Preparing financial reports and management reporting information
• Collaborating with internal departments and external accounting partners
• Maintaining accurate accounting records and documentation
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a similar accounting role
• Experience working with double-entry bookkeeping (Category C books) is mandatory
• Good knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Familiarity with myDATA processes will be considered an asset
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good command of the English language
