Head of Retail Development, Mobile Experience (MX)

About The Role
Build a cohesive, high performing MX Retail Development organization to deliver best-in-class Samsung retail experience across Samsung Experience Stores (SES), partner and mall touch points. Stay up-to-date with current industry trends and monitor strengths and weaknesses of competitors; explore new business opportunities.
Build brand and commercial resonance through elevated brand experience, ensure customer satisfaction, SES expansion strategy and productive organic sell out growth for SES for all MX devices and selected cross BU devices.
Role and Responsibilities

- Lead, develop and coach the Retail Development team to: (a) deliver a differentiated and delightful brand experience (b) embrace a customer-first mindset, openness to innovation and strengthen cross-functional collaboration (c) win in the market place (sales, market share, profitable growth)
- Responsible for planning brand presence expansion strategy and strengthening retail brand experience in malls and / or channel partners' in-store locations, including partner selection and real estate selection
- Develop and execute channel strategy for different retail formats (Samsung branded and partner stores) with ambition to maximise competiveness to gain consideration and conversion
- Develop and execute retail strategy for different retail business models and formats with ambition to maximise competiveness to gain consideration and conversion for all MX devices, including Smartphones, Tablets and Wearables.
- Ownership of Samsung Experience store business including sales and marketing plans, store operations, P&L, KPIs and all related reporting matters according to timelines
- Work closely with Training Team to execute training plans to drive brand advocacy with field force, brand ambassadors and channel partner floor salesmen, and champion new industry standards to drive education and conversion leveraging HQ materials/ tools and with localisation effort to support conversion
- Work closely with Retail Development Marketing Team to develop retail partners’ FSM staff, so as to (a) deliver a differentiated and delightful brand experience (b) embrace a customer-first mindset (c) cross sell / upsell Samsung devices and solutions.
- Responsible for the smooth planning and execution of all visual merchandising activations across all partner and mall channels, upholding the HQ/RHQ brand standards for Samsung
- Innovate POSM/ VM and Content plans to enhance engagement and synergise BTL activation with ATL
- Build retail GTM across all channels to support product launches, marketing campaigns and customer engagement programs
- Build and administer sales incentive programs as well as system enhancements to be competitive
- Build a Brand Advocacy Strategy with field force and brand ambassador teams. Focus on competence and setting up strong performance management and compensation structures to attract and retain.
- Develop and execute training plans to drive brand advocacy with secondary organisations (field force, brand ambassadors) and channel partner floor salesmen); champion new industry standards to drive education and conversion leveraging HQ materials/ tools and with localisation effort to support conversion
- Retail Development budget planning, allocation and management
- Retail Development analysis, data management, KPI management, retail audit and market intelligence
- Cross functional team collaboration to achieve synergistic and best outcomes with cohesive team spirit
- Partners with management and HR teams to create and executes organisation capability and coaching plans including succession planning to maximise overall team performance and create a motivating environment
Skills and Qualifications
Role Requirements
- Degree in Business, Sales and Marketing
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of retail management, retail real estate, training in B2C space
- Intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, challenger mindset and detail-oriented
- Good commercial sense and sharp business acumen
- Highly independent and self-driven but strong collaborator
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Retail, sales or marketing experience in a consumer technology business would be an advantage
