About The Role

Emplify Health by Gundersen is seeking a board certified/board eligible Family Medicine Core Faculty Physician, [with or without obstetrics], to join a thriving, innovative Family Medicine Residency Program dedicated to training the next generation of exceptional family physicians.

The Family Medicine Core faculty opportunity is designed for a physician who is committed to teaching, mentoring, and inspiring resident physicians while maintaining an active clinical practice.

We welcome candidates with broad-spectrum family medicine skills and especially value candidates who bring additional expertise in skillsets that enhance resident education (especially OMT, sports medicine expertise, POCUS, etc.).

Position Highlights

  • Precept an average of 4–5 half-days per week in our Family Medicine Residency Clinic.
  • Maintain your own continuity clinic 2–3 half-days per week.
  • Four-day work week for faculty providing inpatient obstetrical care (except during scheduled call/delivery weeks, typically ~9 weeks per year).
  • 35 contact hours for full-time faculty not providing inpatient obstetrical care.
  • Faculty not providing obstetrical care participate in inpatient newborn and postpartum call (typically ~6 weeks per year).
  • Inpatient medicine teaching opportunity is possible for interested in candidates.

Faculty Responsibilities

  • Teach and mentor residents in both the clinical and didactic settings.
  • Facilitate educational activities such as simulation, procedural workshops, case discussions, and lectures during resident didactic sessions.
  • Serve as a resident advisor and mentor, supporting residents’ professional growth throughout training.
  • Participate in weekly faculty meetings.
  • Collaborate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement.
  • Serve on our Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC).
  • Pursue scholarly activities—including quality improvement, research, curriculum development, or educational innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certified in Family Medicine.
  • A genuine passion for teaching and mentoring resident physicians.
  • Experience in graduate medical education and/or faculty development is preferred but not required.

Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated. In addition, must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations. Medical staff in our system will supervise advanced practice clinicians. Medical staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system. Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all medical staff.
