About the Opportunity

The Data Science Institute (DSI) is a high-visibility campus hub that partners with multiple departments and other units at Brown to support interdisciplinary data science education and research throughout campus. The institute also houses two research centers, the Center for Computational Molecular Biology and the Center for Technological Responsibility, Reimagination and Redesign.

Responsibilities

The Administrative Coordinator provides high-level operational and financial support to the Data Science Institute (DSI), the Center for Network Computing and Data Science (CNTR), and their respective Directors, faculty and students. This role serves as the primary lead for daily operations, facility management, and the full inventory procurement lifecycle. The Coordinator acts as a vital bridge between administrative and academic functions by managing the recruitment and supervision of work-study students and assisting faculty with the TA hiring process. Furthermore, this position works closely with the Financial Manager to ensure fiscal integrity through expense tracking and student payroll coordination.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • -
  • Associates degree with 3 years of related administrative experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in an academic or non-profit setting is preferred
  • Prior financial experience preferred.
