About The Role

  • Carry out and document all tasks associated with the pre-commissioning / commissioning of the equipment.
  • Be responsible for handing over a fully operational system for acceptance by the customer.
  • Ensure health and safety procedures and standards are followed on site. Ensure all Health and safety documentation is filed, maintained and updated on site.
  • Ensure commissioning schedules, handover and witnessing documents are updated, maintained, completed and filed/issued to the project manager prior to project completion.
  • Carry out factory acceptance testing when required, Site acceptance testing and customer witnessing.
  • Ensure sites are cleared of equipment and materials/products prior to handover/completion.
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by senior staff.
  • Carrying out site surveys to support project teams where required
  • Compile RAMs where required
  • Observing & complying with health and safety regulations.
  • Participating in safety reviews when needed.
  • Maintaining Continuous Professional Development
  • Minimum Qualifications/Experience:        
  •  
  • HNC or equivalent in Engineering.
  • At least 5-years working within the Power Industry.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Full UK Driving license.
  • Has good working knowledge of basic protection relays and functions.
  • Is capable of performing tests such as Contact resistance (Ductor), Insulation resistance, AC dielectric withstand tests, CT/VT primary and polarity checks, relay secondary injection, scheme checks and CT analysis.
  • Capable of working with protection relays and making minor changes to settings and configs as and when required.
  • Installation tests on distribution Transformers.
  • Occasionally helping senior commissioning engineers on major projects.
  • Working away from home is expected around 80% of the year.
