About The Role
Apprentice – Digital Automation and Engineering Systems Role Summary This apprentice role supports digital automation, data integrity, and systems connectivity initiatives across engineering and quality processes. The role focuses on practical application of RPA, AI-enabled tools, and digital platforms to streamline business processes, improve document control, and support regulated product development environments. The apprentice works closely with process owners and IT within a Microsoft Copilot-enabled environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain RPA and AI-assisted solutions to automate business processes Support document control activities using digital lifecycle management systems Execute data migration activities including data loading, reconciliation, and quality checks Perform content analysis using AI to extract, classify, and validate technical and process information Create lightweight applications and scripts to support workflow automation and coordination Draft and maintain deliverables using standard office tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Support system connectivity and integration activities across platforms including Windchill, Veeva, Teamcenter, and Polarion Work within a Microsoft Copilot environment to enhance productivity and automation Collaborate closely with process owners and IT teams to define requirements and implement solutions Required Skills RPA development with AI-enabled tools Use of digital document control and lifecycle management systems Data migration, validation, and integrity checking Use of AI for content analysis and information extraction Application or script development for business process automation Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools Understanding of system integrations and data flows across enterprise platforms Ability to work effectively with technical and process stakeholders Education and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Nice to Have Experience Systems engineering and model-based approaches Computer modeling and simulation Code testing and validation Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Failure mode analysis and product risk management Experience supporting medical device development or other regulated product environments ATTENTION: Current Alcon Employee/Contingent Worker If you are currently an active employee/contingent worker at Alcon, please click the appropriate link below to apply on the Internal Career site.
