Job Overview : The Laboratory Technician evaluates ingredients and finished products to ensure both meet specifications. Additionally, performs quality audits and provides feedback to frontline team members on quality results and performance. Participates in and leads problem solving activities.
Priorities of the Laboratory Technician
- This project is focused on US TTB compliance at manufacturing facilities.
- Exceeding expectations across all customer segments, including external and internal customers. Needs in all areas are anticipated and requests and complaints are addressed as much as possible to the satisfaction of all customers.
- An ongoing effort to improve products, services, or processes. These efforts can seek "incremental" improvement over time or "breakthrough" improvement all at once. All are evaluated in the light of their efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility.
- PDS system design and implementation to include active PDS evaluation for each team member with regular feedback sessions between team member and manager, overall grid rating for each team member, 360 degree feedback program. Identify the #1 Skill to be developed by each team member.
- Continuous communication and reinforcement of company culture. Team Member assessment of culture monitored on regular basis via Culture Survey and limited use of Best Places to Work surveys. Tangible results in improvement of culture scores based on survey feedback.

Qualifications
MUST
- Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization
- At least 21 years of age
- Chemistry or related degree
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Working knowledge of ms office products (word, excel and outlook)
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- 2 year degree required
PREFERRED
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in alcohol beverage industry
Experience
MUST
- 1-3 years lab/qc or related experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to pick up and/or move objects up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Strong communication skills
- Distinguish flavors through taste and smell
- Ability to work in fumes or airborne particles conditions
- Ability to identify and distinguish colors
- Noise level at work station is moderate (business office with computer printers)
- Ability to work 8 hour shift
- Ability to work overtime if necessary
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to pay attention to detail
