With summer fast approaching, we have opportunities for casual and fixed-term Café Bar Assistants , who will be based at Half Moon Bay and Auckland CBD and will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction while contributing to the café’s overall efficiency. Our summer fixed-term positions start early November and go through until the end of March 2027. Working in this role, you will have the opportunity to learn the ropes of a Deckhand through assisting our Deckhands with operational and safety duties!
Shifts start as early as 5:00am and finish as late as 8pm. Due to the early starts, access to your own reliable private transportation is essential.

Key responsibilities include
- Providing exceptional customer service
- Following strict guidelines in food service
- Providing a welcoming and efficient service
- Maintaining knowledge of the menu offerings
- Assisting deckhands with operational duties as needed
To be successful in this role, you must have your own reliable transport and should possess the following skills, knowledge, and qualities:
- Previous experience in a café or retail environment
- Understanding the principals of the safe sale and supply of alcohol
- Good local knowledge of visitor attractions
- Experience with POS systems
- A demonstrated ability to work under pressure
- Able to adapt easily to changing work conditions
- Ability to resolve customer queries with initiative and a positive attitude while being a productive team member.
