The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Financial Accountant to join our Finance team as part of our financial services business in Montreal.

As part of our Montreal team you will:

Preparation of variance analysis, balance sheet analysis and supporting schedules, and any relevant analytical review

Collaboration with the finance team in delivering monthly management accounts, year-end audits and annual audited financial statement for multiple legal entities, including stand alone and consolidated structures

Supporting the shared services centre over the review of invoice coding and ensuring adherence to budgets

Participation in intercompany billing cycle, accounts receivable provisioning, and monitoring of all client balances for the respective business units

Participation in annual budgeting and forecasting, as well as various initiatives, projects and ad-hoc analysis

What You Bring

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following

  • The successful candidate will have a university degree in accounting or finance. A professional accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CPA or equivalent) would be an asset;
  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience in accounting in industry or audit firms with a leading accountancy practice;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (fluent written and oral English);
  • Ability to display analytical and pragmatic thinking;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
  • The successful candidate will have excellent time management, proven ability to adhere to strict deadlines, organizational and prioritization skills;
  • The position requires the ability to deal with all levels of staff including those in foreign offices
