Please note: PRN and or PT associates who are extended an offer must be able to complete a required a new hire orientation, held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for about 1 week total. Please apply only if you are able to attend and complete this mandatory training.

Location: Chattanooga, TN (onsite, group home setting)

Employment Type: Part-time, day shift

Compensation: $28/hr+ (DOE)

Incentives: No sign-on bonus offered. No relocation packaged offered.

Schedule: Varies based on business needs and specific group home, we are flexible.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Observe, assist with gathering health related data, and report the health needs or the people we support to the registered nurse
  • Coordinate preventative and routine medical care for people supported
  • Document nursing care provided
  • Assist physicians with on-site medical clinics where applicable
  • Provide health related trainings to unlicensed personnel according to state regulations
  • Conduct medication pass observations in the home to ensure staff competency according to state regulations
  • Conduct medication closest assessments
  • Perform quality assurance checks and observations to ensure unlicensed personnel are performing health related tasks as assigned according to state regulations
  • Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, developmental disabilities, behavioral health, or other healthcare settings.
  • Previous administrative, supervisory, case management, or clinical oversight experience preferred.
  • This role focuses on nursing oversight and clinical support, not day-to-day bed side operations.
  • Experience with quality assurance, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, survey readiness, or accreditation processes preferred.
  • Experience providing education and training to healthcare staff is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of nursing practice standards, healthcare regulations, and quality improvement principles.
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings professionally.
  • Ability to analyze clinical data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel regularly to assigned service locations.
