  • Basic mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of dairy or food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience operating pasteurizers, separators, homogenizers, and blending systems is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience working within regulated food manufacturing environments.

THINGS YOU WILL DO…

Production Operations

  • Operate HTST pasteurizers, separators, homogenizers, blending equipment, and transfer systems.
  • Monitor product temperatures, flow rates, pressures, and critical process parameters.
  • Ensure all products meet quality, composition, and regulatory requirements.
  • Standardize milk and dairy products according to production specifications.
  • Blend, mix, and prepare products for production and packaging.

Food Safety & Quality

  • Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and complete required documentation.
  • Follow HACCP plans, GMPs, SOPs, and food safety standards.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and quality checks.
  • Report product deviations and quality concerns immediately.

CIP & Sanitation

  • Operate and verify CIP systems for tanks, pipelines, and processing equipment.
  • Confirm equipment cleanliness prior to production startup.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions throughout the production process.

Equipment Monitoring & Troubleshooting

  • Monitor equipment performance and process efficiency.
  • Perform minor adjustments and troubleshooting to maintain production flow.
  • Report equipment issues and coordinate with Maintenance as required.
  • Minimize downtime through proactive monitoring and corrective action.

Documentation

  • Complete production, quality, and sanitation records accurately.
  • Record temperatures, processing information, product transfers, and production data.
  • Maintain accurate regulatory documentation.

DETAILED DUTIES

  • Operate pasteurization and processing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor butterfat, temperature, solids, and product composition requirements.
  • Transfer products to production lines while preventing downtime.
  • Secure all tank, line, and processing connections.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and operational checks.
  • Perform process calculations and batch adjustments as required.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support inventory control and ingredient management.
  • Assist with training of new employees when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all workplace health and safety requirements.
  • This is a union position.

OTHER

  • Rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and statutory holidays may be required.
  • Must be able to work in a refrigerated food manufacturing environment.
  • Must wear required PPE and comply with food safety requirements.
