Position Overview

Ensures the quality, efficiency and timeliness of new installations and moves. Responsible for planning and coordinating major installations. Performs installation, implementation, and upgrades of internal systems. Assists in determining suitable software to meet user requirements. Troubleshoots software and hardware failures and identifies network problems when they relate to personal IT Hardware. Maintains an inventory of all equipment, hardware, software and supplies. Full use and application of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Provides resolutions to an assortment of problems. Works under normal supervision. This position is 1st shift Monday – Friday and no flexible work arrangement.

Your Impact

  • Assist in the Development and implementation of standards, policies and guidelines for data center layout/design and environment management. Research issues with policies and procedures. May draft Policies and Procedures for approval. As the technology changes assist in the review of standards to ensure they are still accurate.
  • Project Management and or Project support for construction and retirement of IT spaces (Computer rooms and wiring closets) and equipment installation/de-installation. Determine how to configure a space within the limits of the building. Use knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering in setting up rooms. For example, ensuring hot and heavy equipment has enough cooling and is accessible. Ensuring all cables are connected appropriately.
  • Assists with monthly and yearly asset management reporting to include asset receivables, verifications of asset receipts for invoice payments, and yearly asset management reporting. Manages asset disposal and verification of e-waste certification of end-of-life equipment.
  • Develop and maintain databases, configuration & Connectivity diagrams, spreadsheets of IT Assets and IT spaces. Controls inventory, use floor space diagram software to track and investigate issues. Provide first line support for Data Center and computer rooms.
  • To work with others to provide and maintain a stable environment in the Data Center/Computer rooms and Communications closets.
  • Involved with diagnosing problems and aiding the customer in resolving any issues.
  • Maintain safety and security of Data Center and Computer rooms.
  • Write and maintain operational procedures in Data Center/Computer rooms and similar areas.
  • Install / Rack and stack hardware (switches, servers, appliances etc...)
  • Install /Test / troubleshoot cabling (coppers and fibers)
  • Maintain inventory for equipment keep records of warranty for all tools and equipment.
  • Centralized receiving and asset management.
  • Escorting vendors

Qualifications

  • 2 -4 years’ experience in Data Center.
  • Knowledgeable about San Storage, Network Operations, Telecommunications and other operations support functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information system or related field
  • Strong knowledge of Sunbird dcTrack and ServiceNow
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiar with MSOffice Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Visio)
  • Working knowledge of telecommunications technologies, systems, and circuits
  • Must have proven ability to manufacture and install data center compliant cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber)

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $77,000 - $115,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
