About The Role
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As a key member of the Global Compliance team, you will own the end-to-end implementation of product safety and compliance initiatives, ensuring full alignment with global regulatory requirements and client expectations. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Business Units (BU), Product Development (PD), Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, and other operational teams to drive continuous improvement in product safety and compliance performance. This role demands independent project management capabilities, deep technical expertise in global safety standards, and proactive stakeholder engagement—all to deliver timely, compliant product outcomes.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
KRA 1: Compliance Testing Activities.
- Lead end-to-end product safety compliance testing for global markets, ensuring strict adherence to client requirements and international regulatory frameworks.
- Prepare, review, and validate critical technical documentation for certification (e.g., user manuals, rating labels, Component Bill of Materials), owning the full certification lifecycle from planning to delivery in line with project timelines and market demands.
- Serve as the primary liaison with 3rd-party test laboratories: coordinate testing activities (product analysis, cost negotiation, schedule tracking, progress follow-up) to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality testing/certification outcomes.
- Conduct thorough review and approval of all compliance-related deliverables, including artwork, test reports, and certifications, to eliminate non-compliance risks.
KRA 2: Regulatory Technical Affairs
- Proactively monitor and track updates to global regulations, directives, and testing standards (e.g., UL, IEC/EN, RoHS/REACH, FCC/EMC/ERP), analyze their impact on existing and upcoming products, and communicate critical changes to internal stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with 3rd-party labs to align certification standards, testing methods, and assessment objectives, ensuring consistency between internal labs and certification bodies.
- Technical consultation and support on compliance/certification to internal teams (PD, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing) and external partners (factories, customers), resolving complex compliance-related queries.
KRA 3: Process Improvements
- Drive cross-functional collaboration (PD, Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Marketing, Certification bodies) to ensure 100% one-time success of certification projects, mitigating risks and optimizing resource allocation.
- Monitor and evaluate 3rd-party test laboratory services, identify improvement opportunities, and promote the adoption of best practices in testing and certification processes.
- Support the Compliance Manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining standardized compliance workflows, procedures, and tools to enhance team efficiency and consistency
Other Objectives
- Work independently with minimal supervision to deliver high-quality, on-time compliance outcomes for assigned projects.
- Support the setup, maintenance, and continuous enhancement of the company’s compliance database.
- Fulfill other product Safety and compliance-related tasks assigned by Manager.
Education, Qualification and training · Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in product safety certification management, with a focus on small household appliances.
- Strong English communication skills and project management skills.
Experience or skills required
- Proficiency in core safety standards: UL859, UL507, CSA C22.2 NO. 60335-2-80, CSA C22.2 NO. 60335-2-23, IEC/EN60335-1, IEC/EN60335-2-80, IEC/EN60335-2-23, and as well as corresponding national standards (e.g., CB Scheme, JIS, AS/NZS).
- In-depth understanding of global regulatory frameworks, including but not limited to RoHS, REACH, FCC, EMC, ERP, and other relevant international product compliance requirements.
- Preferred experience: Background in 3rd-party safety testing/certification agencies or direct experience in the manufacturing of Beauty & Wellness products ( e.g., Hair Dryer, Curling Iron, Fan, Air cleaner)
- Good team player, strong analytical and project management skills with effective communication and shifting priorities
- Solid experience with Office Suite: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
