Senior Sales Director (West Coast)
The Senior Sales Director (West Coast) is Aven Hospitality 's commercial presence in the field. This is a true new-business role: you own your territory, build your pipeline, and win net new business through consistent prospecting, sharp qualification, and disciplined execution. Rather than waiting for leads, you proactively engage the market, earn the right to compete, and close opportunities with confidence.
This is a high-visibility, high-reward opportunity to represent a newly launched brand with genuine momentum behind it. You will be the face of Aven Hospitality to prospective customers in your market, bringing credibility, preparation, and a clear point of view on how our technology creates real value for hotels. Success in this role is defined by pipeline coverage, pursuit quality, and consistent performance above quota.
You will operate within a well-structured commercial organization. Your job is to own the commercial relationship and the pursuit from first conversation through close, knowing when and how to bring the right resources in alongside you.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Ownership and Prospecting
- Own your market with the mindset of a CEO: know the landscape, know the players, and know where the business will come from before it is available
- Drive continuous prospecting through research, industry events, and direct outreach
- Build and maintain deep familiarity with target accounts, decision-making structures, competitive positioning, and deal timing
- Represent Aven Hospitality externally at industry conferences, partner events, and customer meetings with presence and credibility
Opportunity Pursuit and Pipeline Discipline
- Own the full pursuit process for new business from identify to close, including deal strategy, stakeholder mapping, and executive alignment
- Maintain a rigorous, accurate pipeline in Salesforce with honest stage qualification, documented contacts, and clear next steps on every open opportunity
- Forecast accurately and communicate pipeline health transparently on a regular cadence
- Coordinate with Sales Consultants for complex demonstrations and RFP deliverables
Commercial Process and Deal Ownership
- Lead the commercial process through pricing strategy, proposal, negotiation, and contract execution
- Develop a command of Aven's full product portfolio and position the right solutions with confidence against the specific revenue and operational priorities of each prospect
- Own the value narrative for your accounts: connect our capabilities to outcomes that matter to the customer, not just features on a page
- Ensure clean, thorough handoffs to Account Management and Customer Success at deal close to protect long-term retention and customer health
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales Consulting, Account Management, and Customer Success as active counterparts throughout the pursuit process
- Bring field intelligence back into the organization consistently: competitive signals, market dynamics, customer feedback, and emerging themes that sharpen our go-to-market approach
- Operate as a credible colleague who raises the bar for the broader commercial team

- A quality pipeline built on honest qualification and disciplined prospecting activity
- Consistent performance above quota driven by in-market presence, sharp commercial execution, and well-structured deals
- Customer engagements where Aven is positioned as a credible, differentiated, and trusted technology partner from the first conversation
- Fewer late-stage surprises because opportunities are challenged early, qualified honestly, and pressure-tested before they matter most
- A reputation internally and externally for being prepared, straightforward, and excellent to work alongside
Requirements for Success
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience selling above quota in the hospitality industry or hospitality technology space
- Demonstrated history as a hunter: consistent prospecting discipline, a full pipeline, and the results to prove it
- Strong commercial judgment in qualification, deal shaping, pricing, and negotiation
- Fluency with CRS, PMS, or distribution technology and the ability to credibly engage with revenue management and IT decision makers
- Proficiency with Salesforce as a pipeline management and forecasting tool
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently to senior hotel executives
- Ability to operate independently in a dynamic, high-growth environment while staying tightly aligned with team standards and commercial guidelines
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within your market and to industry events
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent; relevant industry experience accepted in lieu of formal education
'Nice to Have' Skills
- Experience as a revenue management or distribution professional prior to moving into sales
- Formal training in a recognized sales methodology such as Miller Heiman or equivalent
- Familiarity with SynXis, SynXis Central Operations, or related Aven Hospitality products
- Experience selling into independent hotels, hotel management companies, or soft brand collections
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for proposal and presentation development
