Position Summary

The Financial Analyst serves as a business partner to manufacturing operations by providing financial analysis and insights that support operational decision-making, cost optimization, and continuous improvement. The role is focused on manufacturing cost analysis, standard costing, and performance reporting, while supporting month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting activities. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with manufacturing data to influence operational decisions and improve business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with manufacturing operations and plant leadership to analyze financial and operational performance, identify cost reduction opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and maintenance of standard costs, including annual cost rolls, BOM and routing reviews, and manufacturing overhead rate calculations.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, yields, productivity, and other operational metrics to identify root causes and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Support month-end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring the integrity of manufacturing cost data.
  • Assist with plant budgeting and forecasting by updating cost assumptions, analyzing financial performance, and preparing actual versus budget/forecast variance reporting.
  • Support business initiatives by providing financial analysis for capital investments, Lean projects, process improvements, and other operational decision-making.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, operations finance, or a related analytical role.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to investigate data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing operations and the ability to partner with Operations to understand processes, identify improvement opportunities, and solve business problems.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and manufacturing data, including bills of materials (BOMs), routings, inventory, and production information, preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively with Operations and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work on-site at least three days per week.
