About The Role

Position Overview The Project Engineer (Electrical / AGL - Airside) shall report to the Package Manager - Airside and be responsible for ensuring work-front availability, achieving agreed construction progress targets, identifying and escalating delays, constraints, resource shortages, and interface-related bottlenecks, and supporting timely delivery of Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) and associated airside electrical works. The role involves progress monitoring, construction supervision, quality assurance, testing, commissioning, and handover of AGL systems, airfield electrical infrastructure, signage, control systems, and associated facilities. The Project Engineer shall review GFC drawings and identify site-related discrepancies, review technical submissions, monitor construction progress and quality, coordinate with contractors, consultants, airport operations teams, and stakeholders, and ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, safety requirements, airside operational constraints, and applicable aviation standards. The role shall also ensure seamless interfacing between AGL systems, pavements, civil works, utilities, drainage networks, airport systems, and operational airside areas. Key Responsibilities Review GFC drawings, specifications, method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical submissions, and identify constructability issues and site-related discrepancies. Ensure work-front availability and support achievement of agreed construction progress targets. Supervise installation and commissioning of AGL systems, including runway, taxiway and apron lighting, CCRs, isolation transformers, series circuits, duct banks, pits, cabling, airfield signage, and associated electrical infrastructure. Monitor construction progress and proactively identify, escalate, and resolve delays, constraints, resource shortages, and interface issues. Coordinate with contractors, consultants, airport stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth execution of AGL and airfield electrical works. Manage interfaces between AGL systems, airside pavements, drainage networks, utilities, airport systems, and operational airside facilities. Conduct site inspections, quality checks, compliance reviews, and verification of testing and commissioning activities. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, electrical, statutory, and airside operational requirements. Resolve site issues, technical queries, and design clarifications in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Prepare progress reports, inspection records, punch lists, and technical documentation. Monitor testing, commissioning, snagging, defect rectification, and handover activities. Verify as-built drawings, cable schedules, test reports, material records, O&M manuals, and handover documentation. Identify project risks and implement corrective and mitigation measures. Support the Package Manager in contractor management, technical reviews, progress monitoring, and project coordination. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university. Overall 5-10 years of experience in electrical construction, project engineering, or infrastructure development. Minimum 5 years of experience in airport and aviation projects, including AGL and airside electrical systems, is essential. Experience in installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of AGL systems and associated airfield electrical infrastructure. Experience working with PMC Consultants, EPC Contractors, Airport Operators, Consultants, or Client-side project teams. Experience in coordinating interfaces between AGL, civil pavements, utilities, airfield systems, and operational airport facilities. Knowledge of ICAO, FAA, DGCA, IEC, IS Standards, and applicable airport electrical requirements.
