  • The person in this role will explore large datasets, discover insights, and build reports and interactive dashboards to provide business partners with the information needed to support Asurion Supply Chain Finance/Accounting.The position is responsible for contributing to the design of the Asurion’s Finance information architecture, which will entail balancing data security, data integrity, report performance, and urgency of customer requests.It is important that the candidate is a quick learner and self-starter. To succeed, the candidate should be able to examine data, model data, query data when questions arise, and build reporting solutions that speak for themselves. This role requires a high financial and data acumen so the candidate should have prior financial analysis, data analysis, problem-solving, and/or data analytics experience.

Essential Functions

  • Model, develop, and publish Power BI reports, Power Automate Flows, and SSRS reports
  • Constantly sharpen reporting tool knowledge and keep up with updates as Microsoft releases them
  • Collaborate with client teams to gather project requirements, align/adjust expectations according to available resources, and deliver solutions within agreed upon timelines
  • Proactively seek opportunities for both process and insight improvement and make recommendations for implementation
  • As the subject matter expert, communicate analytical and technical information to project sponsors and senior level audiences
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Asurion's applications and systems
  • Possess excellent organizational skills, presentation skills, analytical skills, and a strong financial acumen
  • Required Qualifications
  • Education Requirements: Minimum 4-year college degree in related field like Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance/Accounting, Analytics, or IT
  • Some data analysis work experience preferably in the insurance or telecom industries
  • Experience with Microsoft reporting tools or other equivalents (Tableau, QlikView, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ability to work with large datasets, model data quickly and comprehensively, and write SQL statements
  • Strong analytic/problem-solving skills, writing skills, organization skills, prioritization skills, and communication skills
  • Capability to participate in multiple concurrent projects

Desired Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Oracle BI, or equivalents
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and experience writing SQL statements
  • Experience with any Financial reporting tools (OneStream, Hyperion, etc.)
  • Experience working in FP&A, Accounting, Analytics, or general business experience with exposure to these areas
  • Experience with SSRS a plus, but not required
  • Experience writing code using other programing languages (Python, R, etc.) a plus, but not required
  • Experience with SSIS a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Query a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP a plus, but not required Essential Functions
  • Designs and deploys BI solutions using the Microsoft Power Stack (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), applying AI-assisted development practices to deliver faster, higher-quality outputs aligned to business needs
  • Acts as a dedicated business partner to assigned business units — proactively engaging stakeholders to understand objectives, surface relevant insights, and deliver solutions that drive measurable outcomes rather than simply fulfilling requests
  • Authors, validates, and optimizes complex SQL queries across enterprise data platforms; applies AI-assisted tools to accelerate query development, improve documentation, and maintain consistent data standards
  • Translates complex analytical findings into clear, outcome-focused narratives tailored to finance leadership and business stakeholders; frames insights in terms of business impact rather than technical detail
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve processes, automate repetitive analytical tasks, and enhance insight delivery — including contributing to the team’s adoption of AI-powered workflows and tooling
  • Maintains a current working knowledge of company applications, data systems, and system integration patterns relevant to the Finance data environment
  • Actively uses and contributes to AI-assisted workflows including enterprise AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT Enterprise, Claude, Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate query development, data documentation, and reporting; participates in building and refining shared AI tooling for the Finance Analytics team
  • Maintains and contributes to structured data documentation (table references, join logic, schema definitions, relation to business processes, and impact) that supports both human analysts and AI-assisted query development across the team
  • Serves as the subject matter expert for assigned business units, building deep knowledge of their data, processes, and reporting needs

Required Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Minimum 4-year college degree in related field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance/Accounting) or relevant experience
  • Minimum 4 years of data analysis or any business intelligence related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Stack (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) or other equivalents (Tableau, QlikView, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency with complex SQL language composition and analysis across multiple database platforms
  • Proficiency with SQL across multiple dialects and distributed query engines (e.g., Trino/Presto); comfort writing and optimizing queries in large-scale enterprise data environments
  • Experience working with large complex data including data modeling
  • Strong analytic/problem-solving skills, writing skills, organization skills, prioritization skills and communication skills
  • Capability to participate in multiple concurrent projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, or similar) in an analytics or data development context
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering concepts and practical application of large language models for data tasks (query writing, documentation, summarization)
  • Experience with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations or similar enterprise financial systems
  • Scripting or automation experience (Python or similar) applied to data workflows, documentation generation, or BI pipeline development
