Senior Business Analyst, Sales & Operations
Interior Specialists, Inc · Remote, United States
About The Role
Looking to build your career and design your future? You have come to the right place.
Summary
The Senior Business Analyst, Sales & Operations reports directly to the Chief Information Technology Officer (CITO) and owns business analysis for the Sales and Operations tools within ILG’s IT application portfolio. This role is the primary bridge between business stakeholders and Agile development teams, translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, and validating that delivered functionality solves the intended business problem.
The portfolio spans two application towers. Back Office Applications consist of the SAP ERP environment and its surrounding ecosystem — currently on ECC and migrating to S/4HANA RISE by November 2026 through a like-for-like migration led outside this role. Front-End Applications are the tools used daily by Homebuilder Buyers, ILG Designers, and ILG Product and Back-Office teams, principally the HDS, Auros, and Visualizer platforms. This role does not carry Finance & Accounting business analysis responsibilities, which are covered by an existing dedicated role.
Once the S/4HANA RISE migration is complete, this role will take on business analysis responsibility for a set of SAP Ecosystem applications — FieldPro, FieldPro+, and BidPro — as they move through modernization, and will partner across SAP, Salesforce, Hyphen Supply Pro, and the internal Front-End Applications wherever those systems integrate with Sales and Operations processes. The role will also lead the Front-End Applications Steering Committee alongside the CITO and other committee members, helping guide the modernization and consolidation of the Front-End Applications suite.
Essential Functions
Business Requirements & Agile Delivery
- Partner with business stakeholders across Sales and Operations — Homebuilder Buyers, ILG Designers, Product Teams, Field Managers, Contractor Installers, and Back-Office teams — to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements
- Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional specifications the development teams can build against
- Operate as a core member of Agile sprint teams: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming/refinement, sprint review and demo, and retrospectives
- Own and maintain a well-groomed, prioritized backlog for the Sales & Operations application portfolio
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT development teams throughout each sprint cycle, surfacing risks, dependencies, and scope questions early
- Validate delivered functionality against business requirements; support user acceptance testing (UAT) and sign-off prior to release
Back Office (SAP) Ecosystem Applications
- Not a participant in the ECC-to-S/4HANA RISE migration itself — that migration is like-for-like and led outside this role, targeted for completion by November 2026
- Following the S/4HANA RISE migration, own business analysis for SAP Ecosystem applications supporting Sales and Operations: FieldPro (Field Managers), FieldPro+ (Contractor Installers), and BidPro (a legacy bidding tool currently sunset and slated for replacement)
- Partner with business stakeholders and SAP delivery teams to define requirements for modernizing FieldPro and FieldPro+ — both mobile applications currently running on SAP Fiori — and for building a new application to replace BidPro
- Help evaluate and recommend the target platform for each modernized application — SAP Fiori/S4 versus SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) — based on business requirements and functional fit
- Capture, document, and prioritize business-driven enhancements identified during modernization of these applications
- Represent Sales & Operations business requirements for additional SAP-space opportunities as they are identified; excludes any Finance & Accounting business analysis, which is owned by a separate role
Front-End Applications Product Ownership (HDS / Auros / Visualizer)
- Serve as the lead Business Analyst driving product development across the Auros, HDS, and Visualizer platforms used by Homebuilder Buyers, ILG Designers, and ILG Back-Office teams
- Develop and maintain deep functional knowledge of the platform suite: HDS (flooring and counter/wall diagrams and quotes, built on ASPX/SQL with embedded business logic); Auros (builder options, scheduling, images, and integration services, built on Spring Boot/Java running in AWS containers with SQL Server and no business logic or stored procedures, functioning as a feature wrapper on top of HDS); and the Visualizer (uses HDS as its core calculator together with Unreal Engine, Java, and MySQL)
- Gather and document requirements for the Visualizer’s move to a browser-based model — rendering assets once and assembling them per interaction — to reduce cost and improve performance versus rendering on demand
- Drive requirements for the modernization and consolidation of the HDS, Auros, and Visualizer tracks into a single streamlined product, partnering with engineering on architecture decisions that affect business functionality, user experience, and cost
- Own requirements related to HDS’s Subscriber-Builder-Lot-Community data hierarchy (with labor currently set at the Subscriber level) and its transition to the new MySQL-based Community Setup, including the new calculator that applies labor rates at the template level down to individual communities
- Own and prioritize the product roadmap and backlog for the Front-End Applications in partnership with the CITO and development leads
Cross-Platform Integration
- Partner with business and technical teams on requirements for integrations between SAP and Salesforce, Hyphen Supply Pro, and the internal Front-End Applications (Auros/HDS)
- Document integration requirements, data flow, and business rules across these integration points, ensuring Sales & Operations needs are represented in design and testing
- Coordinate with SAP, Salesforce, and internal engineering teams to troubleshoot integration issues and validate end-to-end business processes
Governance & Steering Committee Leadership
- Lead the Front-End Applications Steering Committee alongside the CITO and other committee members to set priorities, evaluate trade-offs, and guide investment across the Auros/HDS/Visualizer roadmap
- Prepare and present roadmap updates, business cases, and prioritization recommendations to the Steering Committee and senior leadership
- Establish and maintain governance standards for requirements documentation, backlog management, and change control across the Sales & Operations application portfolio
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Seven (7) or more years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting enterprise applications, including at least three (3) years supporting Sales, Operations, or order-to-cash type applications
- Demonstrated experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework — writing user stories and acceptance criteria, managing a backlog, and participating in sprint ceremonies
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements for complex, multi-system application portfolios
- Experience partnering with cross-functional business stakeholders (sales, operations, field, product) to translate needs into actionable requirements
- Experience working closely with development and QA teams through the full delivery lifecycle, including UAT
- Strong facilitation skills — requirements workshops, backlog grooming, and stakeholder alignment across business and IT
Preferred
- Experience with SAP ERP / SAP Fiori applications and the broader SAP ecosystem
- Experience in homebuilding, construction, or building products industries
- Experience with application modernization or legacy system replacement initiatives
- Familiarity with integration patterns between ERP (SAP) and CRM (Salesforce) or supply chain systems (e.g., Hyphen Supply Pro)
- Experience with mobile application requirements, particularly field service or installer-facing applications
- Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- Experience leading or supporting a technology steering committee or similar governance body
Skills & Competencies
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand Sales and Operations workflows across both Back Office and Front-End application domains
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical concepts for business audiences and business needs for technical teams
- Skilled in requirements elicitation techniques — interviews, workshops, process mapping, and user story writing
- Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills across business and IT, including with senior leadership
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a complex, multi-platform application portfolio spanning legacy and modern technologies
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity during periods of platform transition and modernization
- Collaborative, consensus-building approach; effective working across teams without direct authority
- Proficiency with backlog/ALM tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps) and Microsoft Office
