About ClearEngine
ClearEngine is a strategic advisory firm that works with early-to-mid stage consumer companies, specializing in strategy, finance, growth, marketing, and organizational design. We partner with exceptional leaders and companies with game-changing potential to empower their vision and chart a clear path to sustainable success.
We are strategic advisors and operating partners to executives, owners, and investors. We work as extensions of leadership teams to clarify paths to success, navigate complex situations, and create long-term value by unlocking growth and accelerating profitability. Our approach is pragmatic, lean, and data-driven, with a strong bias toward execution. As operators with deep experience in the trenches, we roll up our sleeves with clients, often driving implementation alongside strategy.
ClearEngine is based in Miami, FL, and partners with clients and collaborators across the U.S. and internationally.
Role overview
We are looking for a senior operator to run ClearEngine client engagements end to end, from strategy through execution, and to hold the founder relationship. You think at the altitude of the whole business and have operated at ground level, the combination ClearEngine is built on. You lead workstreams, make the financial and strategic calls, and build the team beneath you as engagements grow.
What you’ll own
- Run engagements end to end. Own the workplan, the cadence, and the calls across each engagement, from diagnosis and priorities through execution and handoff.
- Hold the founder relationship. Carry the client relationship directly, including through disagreement. You defend a recommendation and sell the harder call, not just deliver the work.
- Make the financial and strategic calls. Read the P&L and the budget, pressure-test the model, and set direction on pricing, positioning, and where the business should spend its next dollar.
- Translate strategy to tactics and back. Turn a direction into what happens Monday, then read what reality returns and adjust the strategy.
- Lead and build the team. Direct the specialists and juniors on your engagements, develop them, and build the layer beneath you as the work scales.
Requirements
- +6 years of experience working in high-growth companies and dynamic, fast-paced environments. Proven ability to adapt quickly, take ownership, and thrive in ambiguous environments
- Owned a client relationship, ideally with experience working directly with C-suite executives. You’ve been directly responsible for managing senior client relationships, including navigating challenging situations and conflict. Experience leading a team is a strong plus.
- Made decisions against a P&L and a budget. You’ve been accountable for a number and had to make decisions based on it, defend it, and course-correct when needed. Ownership of a P&L is ideal.
- Operated, not only advised. You’ve translated strategy into execution by running or standing up a function, or by consulting in a hands-on capacity rather than simply making recommendations.
- Worked across at least two functions. You’ve had meaningful responsibility in at least two core business functions,
- English proficiency. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with comfort interacting with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong ownership mindset with a high level of reliability, follow-through, and attention to detail.
What will set you apart
- You’ve worked in both high-growth and structured environments. You know when to build from scratch and when to work within an existing system.
- You combine strategic thinking with execution. You’re comfortable moving between diagnosing the problem, deciding what to do, and driving implementation.
- You bring rigor to your thinking. You structure ambiguous problems, work from data and evidence, and are precise about both the recommendation and the expected outcome.
- You are highly self-directed. You see what needs to happen, take ownership, and keep pushing when the path isn’t obvious or things get difficult.
