As a Geotechnical Engineering Student (Co-op) at EXP, you’ll gain practical exposure to geotechnical and environmental fieldwork while supporting a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. This is a great role for students studying civil engineering, environmental engineering, geoscience, or related fields who want real-world field experience.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Conduct soil compaction testing using a soil density gauge
Perform concrete field tests (slump, air content) and cast concrete test cylinders
Observe asphalt placement and conduct sampling and compaction testing

What your experience looks like

Currently enrolled in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or related program
Interest in construction, geotechnical testing, or environmental fieldwork
Ability to problem-solve and think proactively on site
Comfortable reading and interpreting drawings/specifications (training provided)
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with contractors and team members
Solid report writing and attention to detail
Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to job sites
Physically able to lift/carry equipment such as soil density gauges and concrete cylinders

The hourly range for this role is between $21 - $23. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
