Are you ready to tackle some of the most complex and rewarding challenges in the industry? In this role, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with brilliant minds and contribute to high-profile projects that are changing the landscape of our world.

As an Intermediate Field Technician with our Surface Water team in Mississauga, ON, you'll support surface water monitoring, equipment installation, field surveying, and environmental data collection. Field programs will typically account for approximately 75–85% of your workload, complemented by office-based data analysis and reporting. The role includes travel to remote sites, extended assignments, and overtime during peak field season; eligible overtime hours are bankable for time off during the off-season.

Your Impact

  • Lead safe field programs by developing health and safety plans and job safety analyses for surface water monitoring and equipment installations.
  • Deliver in-situ flow measurements and topographic benchmark surveys that strengthen water-resource decisions for clients and communities.
  • Coordinate field materials, equipment, travel, client personnel, and technical disciplines to keep remote programs moving safely and efficiently.
  • Produce detailed field notes and dependable monitoring records that support defensible environmental data.
  • Contribute to field-data compilation and analysis, including rating-curve development, to translate measurements into meaningful project insight.
  • Strengthen project outcomes through clear field and installation reports.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • An Environmental Technician/Technologist college diploma, bachelor's degree, or technical diploma in environmental sciences, environmental technology, or a related field.
  • Practical experience supporting stream-monitoring or equipment-installation programs, including environmental data collection and field-survey methods.
  • An unrestricted full Class G driver's licence or provincial equivalent, a clean driver's abstract, access to a vehicle, and confidence operating pickup trucks and 4x4 vehicles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to compile field data, develop rating curves, and prepare clear technical reports.
  • Availability for remote travel by boat, small aircraft, helicopter, snowmobile, and ATV, and for fieldwork in varied environmental conditions; a Pleasure Craft Operator Card, snowmobile safety certification, and First Aid certification are assets.
  • Ability to safely transport up to 50 lbs of field and safety equipment while following established health and safety procedures.

Compensation

  • AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 - $88,400
  • MB & ON: $60,900 - $83,800
  • NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $60,300 - $80,000
