About The Role

Transcription & Data Entry Supervisor - Onsite in White Plains, NY, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the transcription area to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of services provided by the department.

Pay range: $58,656 - $104,700 / year

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

  • Responsible for daily operations of the department, including assigning work, determining priorities, and ensuring departmental coverage.
  • Responsible for the supervision, coaching, monitoring, training, and performance management of assigned staff.
  • Develop policies and procedures for Transcription department.
  • Ensure accurate billing of Anatomic Pathology tests.
  • Gather statistical data for pathologist’s variable compensation program and monthly departmental operations reports.
  • Identify and resolve all employee/client issues.
  • Perform QC of transcription staff.
  • Perform transcription duties as needed to ensure timely completion of work.

Required Work Experience

Three (3) to six (6) years experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Sitting for long periods of time.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. (Typing)

Knowledge

  • Capable of performing all the duties/responsibilities of a Transcriptionist II.
  • Understanding of the compliance policies relating to test ordering, test reporting, add-on tests, TIQ/TNRP, reflex tests and custom panels.
  • Knowledge of Anatomic Pathology billing (CPT codes, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) necessary to effectively interact with customers and co-workers.
  • Ability to foster a positive and productive work environment by building, leading and motivating the team.
  • Must be detail-oriented, have the ability to work independently, establish work priorities and to handle several tasks simultaneously for maximum department efficiency.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal courteously and effectively with supervisors, co-workers and clients.
  • Communication skills necessary to handle telephone inquiries from clients.
  • Ability to deal with client information in a confidential manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Leads with metrics and tools – uses data, metrics and operational tools to assess performance, prioritize work, and improve team goals and results.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Medical Transcription Training program (Preferred)
