About The Role

Beond is the world's first premium leisure airline. As we continue to expand our regulatory and operational footprint, we are establishing a Bahrain Air Operator Certificate (AOC) under the oversight of the Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs (BCAA). We are seeking a Nominated Postholder Flight Operations to lead the development, certification and oversight of the Flight Operations function for our Bahrain AOC, based in Manama, Bahrain.

The Nominated Postholder Flight Operations is appointed by, and reports to, the Accountable Manager, and is responsible for:

  • Ensure safe and efficient flight operations and remain in compliance with the applicable Bahrain CARs for the operational area under your responsibility.
  • Determine flight operational standards, practices and safety policy, ensure compliance with the applicable regulations and the AOC, and provide effective Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Define the Flight Operations budget and oversee Flight Operations Support (Crew Scheduling and Operations Control).
  • Assess and review route and aerodrome selection and flight-crew competency, and liaise with the NPGO on new airports and handling requirements.
  • Issue (or delegate) Operations Manual Parts A, B and C, the Cabin Safety Manual and the Cabin Operations Manual, and implement new BCAA/EASA/ICAO directives with the NPCM.
  • Lead Crew Resource Management and implement the department Safety Management System under the supervision of the NPSM.

Requirements

This is a nominated postholder position under the Bahrain CAR-OPS (EASA-aligned). The successful candidate must be formally accepted by BCAA before appointment and must be able to evidence the mandatory requirements below to the regulator's satisfaction, including a BCAA acceptance (Form 4-style) interview.

Mandatory

  • Hold, or have held, a valid flight crew licence (ATPL/CPL) with ratings appropriate to a type of operation conducted under the AOC (Bahrain CAR-OPS / ORO.AOC.135).
  • At least 5 years' relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years in the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position (Bahrain CAR-OPS / ORO.AOC.135).
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of the Bahrain CAR-OPS, Operations Manual structure and flight-time-limitation schemes.
  • Must be acceptable to BCAA following formal assessment.

Desirable

  • Current or recent command on the Airbus A320/A321 family.
  • Prior experience as a nominated postholder / a new-AOC stand-up.
  • ICAO English Level 4 or above where operational.
