About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join our Finance team in Brussels or Cologne. The successful candidate will be part of the Financial Reporting & Controlling team and report directly to the Head of Regulatory Reporting .
This role plays a key part in supporting quarterly and annual financial closing processes, with a primary focus on Regulatory Reporting to the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) and Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), like Solvency II and BEGAAP, while also having a solid understanding of Management Reporting (IFRS). All reporting activities must comply with the Group’s Internal Control Framework , including J-SOX requirements.
You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders such as the CFO , Finance Management Team , and Actuarial and Underwriting teams , and will also interact with external regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the preparation and communication of regulatory reporting instructions and timelines.
- Execute and oversee effective financial processes and audit controls for the entity and its European branches, ensuring timely delivery.
- Prepare and analyse Management Reporting for key stakeholders, including Management Committee, Audit/Risk Committees, and the Board.
- Supporting quarterly and annual regulatory report deliverables, like Solvency II and BEGAAP, and respond to ad hoc regulatory inquiries (e.g. NBB, PRA).
- Monitor regulatory developments and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure accuracy and quality assurance of financial outputs and reports.
- Support internal and external audits, supervisory reviews and regulatory inspections related to financial and regulatory reporting, ensuring timely delivery of requested documentation, clear explanation of reporting methodologies, and effective remediation of identified findings.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in audit, controlling, or financial reporting—ideally in an international or insurance-related environment.
- Experience in financial and/or regulatory reporting is required. Knowledge of Solvency II, insurance accounting, BEGAAP, prudential reporting or the insurance sector is a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- You will work in an international environment, which means that you should be able to communicate fluently in English; knowledge of Dutch or French is an advantage.
- Strong team player with effective communication skills, especially in cross-border and multicultural settings.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to other European offices for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple regulatory priorities and deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills are required. Experience with reporting, consolidation or data analytics tools is an advantage.
