About the role
Strategic Customer Leadership
- Lead the overall customer strategy and commercial development plan for CDF.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders across commercial, category, marketing and operational functions.
- Identify and develop long-term growth opportunities to strengthen Penfolds’ position within the duty-free and broader retail ecosystem.
- Drive strategic account development and portfolio expansion initiatives across multiple customer touchpoints.
- Act as the primary commercial representative and trusted business partner for the customer.
Joint Business Planning & Commercial Management
- Lead annual Joint Business Planning (JBP) processes and customer business reviews.
- Deliver sales, revenue, profitability and market share objectives through effective account management and execution.
- Develop and implement customer-specific business plans that support sustainable growth and value creation.
- Manage commercial negotiations, investment priorities and promotional programs in line with business objectives.
- Monitor business performance and recommend corrective actions or growth initiatives where required.
Customer Marketing & Retail Excellence
- Partner with Trade Marketing and Brand Marketing teams to develop impactful customer activation programs and luxury brand experiences.
- Ensure excellent execution of customer initiatives, promotional activities and brand visibility programs.
- Support the development and execution of customer-specific marketing plans to drive shopper engagement and conversion.
- Monitor competitive activity, category developments and market trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
Portfolio & Category Development
- Drive distribution, assortment and visibility opportunities across the portfolio.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen category leadership and increase customer engagement.
- Support innovation launches, portfolio expansion and route-to-market initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Provide customer and market insights to support portfolio strategy and future growth opportunities.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Act as the key liaison between customer stakeholders and internal teams including Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance and Customer Service.
- Coordinate cross-functional resources to ensure delivery of customer commitments and business targets.
- Influence decision-making through commercial insights, market intelligence and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure forecasting accuracy, inventory health and effective business planning processes.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure all commercial activities comply with company policies, regulatory requirements and responsible marketing standards.
- Maintain accurate customer planning, forecasting and reporting processes.
- Support governance requirements related to commercial agreements and customer investments.
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Key Account Management, Customer Development or Commercial roles within FMCG, wine & spirits, luxury or travel retail industries.
- Proven track record of managing strategic customers and delivering sales growth, profitability and market share objectives.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in business planning, negotiations and customer investment management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence senior customer and internal partners.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to translate insights into growth opportunities.
- Effective cross-functional collaborator with strong execution and project management skills.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
- Experience with China Duty Free Group (CDFG) and/or travel retail customers is highly desirable.
