Job Type: Contract to Hire

  • Shift: 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM; Occasional Saturdays and overtime required)
  • Starting Pay: From $24.00/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)

Professional Summary

We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder & Fabrication Technician to join our metal fabrication team. This position focuses on fabricating, fitting, and welding aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal components used in handrails and custom fabrication projects. The ideal candidate has strong TIG welding experience, can interpret fabrication drawings, and is committed to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, fit, and weld handrails and miscellaneous metal components using aluminum, stainless steel, and other metals.
  • Perform high-quality TIG welding while producing clean, structurally sound welds.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions to complete fabrication accurately.
  • Lay out, measure, cut, and prepare materials according to project specifications.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including saws, notchers, grinders, and common hand tools.
  • Assemble and align components using jigs, fixtures, and precision measuring tools before welding.
  • Transport and position materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead lifting equipment when needed.
  • Maintain production schedules while meeting quality standards and following established safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience performing TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel in a fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
  • Experience performing layout work using tape measures, hand tools, and measuring devices.
  • Working knowledge of shop math, including fractions and basic geometry.
  • Ability to troubleshoot fit-up, layout, and welding issues with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with fabrication equipment and general metalworking practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under production deadlines while adapting to changing priorities.
