About The Role
Wood is recruiting for a Civil Designer to join its Projects business line focusing on engineering, procurement and construction of complex plants in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Energy industries. The position will be based in Corsico (Milan) office, with the possibility to work from home up to two days per week.

The Role
You will support the design and development of civil engineering documents under the guidance of senior engineers and designers. The role involves the preparation of technical drawings for foundations, concrete structures, earthworks, 3D models and related quantities interacting with other technical disciplines and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high quality technical solutions. During projects development, you’ll attend 3D model review and will implement any Client’s comments in the design. During construction you’ll be involved to prepare updated or new documents and for site visits.

The key objectives for this role are
- Execution of concrete structures and earthworks design in accordance with the applicable laws and standards requirements regarding Health, Safety and Environment. These activities shall be performed by means of 3D tools (Tekla, Smart 3D, E3D, Civil 3D) and 2D tools (Autocad or Microstation)
- Execution of the assigned design activities in accordance with job requirements and time schedule following the instructions given by the Civil project leader
- Set-up of Tekla environment for the projects and validation of the related models
- Preparation and check of concrete structures and foundations drawings, including reinforcement and bar bending schedules
- Collection of the data necessary for the design from the other disciplines and by means of site surveys where needed
- Check of the drawings provided by third parties (i.e. vendors, civil contractor…)
- Guarantee high quality of the documents and compliance with Project and Company procedures and standards
- Review and check of the design in 3D engineering environments
- Check of the feasibility of technical solution with the use of laser scanning
- Check of the designed quantities

Expected
- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Technical Diploma
- Good communication and teamwork skills

- Fluent Italian and good English

Compensation and compliance
Contract & Classification
- Contract type: Permanent
- Collective Agreement (CCNL): Industria Metalmeccanica (CNEL C011)
- Job Classification level: Impiegato, consistent with role requirements and applicable CCNL
Compensation
- Gross Annual Salary: the initial gross annual salary will be € 32,604.60, paid in 14 instalments
- The compensation package will include applicable CCNL elements and company benefits
- Variable pay and additional benefits will be detailed during the selection process
