About The Role

The successful candidate

Provide direct, compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced emergency setting, including triaging, assessing, and prioritizing care needs.
Perform clinical assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide treatment in alignment with department protocols and patient needs.
Manage complex patient situations, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist in life-saving procedures such as CPR, and other emergency protocols.
Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrates competence in patient triage and medical screening exams using the established protocols
Demonstrates knowledge and use of Vasoactive medications
Ability to read and operate cardiac monitor, recognize normal/abnormal rhythms, and institute appropriate interventions
Quickly identifies signs and symptoms of emergent and/or life-threatening conditions and demonstrates skills to follow appropriate protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure goal times are met
Attend In-House Code Blue and Rapid Response Calls, as required
Must be able to work 3 12's, 7p-7a

Qualifications

1 year emergency or critical care experience
Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE school of Nursing
State of Illinois Registered Nurse License.
BLS certification upon hire and maintained in position.
ACLS upon hire and maintained in position
PALS certification upon hire or obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained in position.
National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)certification within 6 months of hire and maintained in position.
Oncology Certification through ONCC when eligible or 6 oncology CE every year (18 oncology CE total every 3 years) for the Oncology Commission Cancer cycle.
