About The Role

The successful candidate

  • Provide direct, compassionate care to patients in a fast-paced emergency setting, including triaging, assessing, and prioritizing care needs.
  • Perform clinical assessments, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide treatment in alignment with department protocols and patient needs.
  • Manage complex patient situations, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist in life-saving procedures such as CPR, and other emergency protocols.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments.
  • Demonstrates competence in patient triage and medical screening exams using the established protocols
  • Demonstrates knowledge and use of Vasoactive medications
  • Ability to read and operate cardiac monitor, recognize normal/abnormal rhythms, and institute appropriate interventions
  • Quickly identifies signs and symptoms of emergent and/or life-threatening conditions and demonstrates skills to follow appropriate protocols, policies, and procedures to ensure goal times are met
  • Attend In-House Code Blue and Rapid Response Calls, as required
  • Must be able to work 3 12's, 7p-7a

Qualifications

  • 1 year emergency or critical care experience
  • Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE school of Nursing
  • State of Illinois Registered Nurse License.
  • BLS certification upon hire and maintained in position.
  • ACLS upon hire and maintained in position
  • PALS certification upon hire or obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained in position.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)certification within 6 months of hire and maintained in position.
  • Oncology Certification through ONCC when eligible or 6 oncology CE every year (18 oncology CE total every 3 years) for the Oncology Commission Cancer cycle.
