The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Job Description

The Systems Administrator will support and advise the ongoing development of Salesforce deployment and many tech systems and tools. They will improve processes and work with teams and individuals to identify CRM strategy and support tech adoption using various platforms. They will apply expert knowledge to ensure best practices and well-engineered architecture across the department. The Systems Administrator is a key initiator of major changes to processes, engineering practices, and system administration. They will solve critical issues and initiatives across multiple teams and engage with executives to assess their system and tech needs. The Systems Administrator will work closely with functional leaders, organizational units, and subject matter experts to identify, develop, and deploy new business processes that enable teams and integrate all practice into our data analytics architecture.

Job Duties

Performs system administration, configuration, and support for Salesforce.

Partners with EdTech teams for all Salesforce deployments.

Resolves specific Salesforce issues submitted into the University’s ticketing system, while partnering closely with EdTech teams on any changes.

Works with internal customers to gather business process and project requirements.

Leads in the building of cutting-edge applications and services to increase and improve the field team experience and works with B2B partners/employers.

Fosters and utilizes innovative approaches to problems and functionality for all key stakeholders.

Directs technologies focusing on sales enablement, business relationships, internal communication, and external presenting/sales/client support.

Collaborates with developers, designers, testing, and product management to develop features and innovative approaches to applications and processes.

Mentors and advises engineering teams on new languages and technologies; acts as a resident expert when needed to support the development of a new CRM or serves as a hands-on system admin when needed.

Establishes a balance between strategic planning and initiatives with development, communication, troubleshooting, and problem solving.

Leads in the prototyping and development of new technology and framework, improving the field experience.

Identifies system redundancies and inefficiencies, proposing innovative and cost-effective solutions.

Assesses usage of field tools and highlights changes, training needs, and compliance issues.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

KSAs

Knowledge of Apex and Visual Force development methods

Knowledge of Salesforce API

Knowledge of SOQL (Salesforce Object Query Language)

  • Knowledge of both Sales and Service Cloud applications
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Exchange and Outlook
  • Ability to assist management with vetting, selecting, and implementing new Salesforce related technology solutions
  • Self-starter with a strong ability to use initiative and work autonomously under tight commercially sensitive deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer focus

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field

1 year of experience as a Salesforce.com administrator

2 years of experience in roles that include project management or project oversight

Experience in web-based applications and web services using Java, REST, SQL, GIT, and other technologies, including experience integrating third-party products

Salesforce.com Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) Certification

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.
