At Ngāti Hine Health Trust , our clinical mahi is about more than providing healthcare. It is about supporting whānau to achieve mana motuhake in their hauora, delivering care grounded in whakapapa, tikanga and te ao Māori, while maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice.

As our hauora services continue to grow across Te Tai Tokerau , we are always interested in hearing from clinicians who share our kaupapa and would like to become part of our clinical whānau.

This is an ongoing expression of interest f or future clinical opportunities rather than recruitment for one specific vacancy.

We are particularly interested in hearing from General Practitioners and Nurses who want to bring their clinical expertise to an iwi-led, kaupapa Māori health organisation and establish a meaningful connection with Ngāti Hine and the communities we serve.

General Practice

We welcome expressions of interest from General Practitioners interested in working within our growing primary and community hauora services.

We are particularly interested in GPs who

• Bring strong contemporary general practice and primary care experience.
• Enjoy working across clinic, community and whānau-centred models of care.
• Are committed to reducing inequity and improving access to primary healthcare.
• Value multidisciplinary practice and working alongside nurses, social workers, navigators, kaiāwhina and other health professionals.
• Want to build enduring relationships with whānau and communities across Te Tai Tokerau.
• Are interested in practising within a kaupapa Māori environment where clinical excellence and te ao Māori sit alongside one another.

Nursing Opportunities

Our nursing workforce works across a diverse range of clinical, community and whānau settings. We are interested in hearing from nurses with experience across one or more of the following areas.

Primary & Community Registered Nurses , Well Child Tamariki Ora Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Prescribers with experience in:

• Primary care, general practice and community nursing.
• Whānau-centred assessment, care planning and coordination.
• Long-term condition management and preventative health.
• Immunisation and delivery of the New Zealand National Immunisation Schedule.
• Current Authorised Vaccinator status - ideally whole-of-life - or a willingness to complete the required vaccinator training, clinical assessment and authorisation.
• Outreach and community-based delivery, including working with whānau who may experience barriers accessing traditional health services.
• Nurses interested in providing care across the full life course - from pēpi and tamariki through to kaumātua and end-of-life care.
• Nurses with experience or a special interest in areas such as diabetes, cardiovascular health, respiratory care, long-term conditions and preventative healths
• Nurses with experience using Standing Orders and working with a high degree of clinical autonomy.

Mental Health & Addictions Nursing with experience in

• Mental health and addictions.
• Community mental health.
• Working alongside whānau experiencing complex health and social needs.
• Trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.
• Crisis assessment, risk assessment and care planning.

Home & Community Support / Hauora of Older People

• Supporting whānau to remain well, independent and connected within their own kāinga and communities.
• Clinical assessment and development of individualised support and care plans.
• Experience working with Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) pathways.
• Experience completing interRAI assessments, particularly nurses who already hold interRAI Home Care competency.
• Restorative and strengths-based models of care.

We are looking for people who demonstrate

• A commitment to te reo Māori , including actively developing and using te reo in your everyday mahi. Existing confidence and capability to kōrero Māori is strongly valued.
• Confidence participating in Māori environments, including marae-based and whānau settings.
• A willingness to participate fully in our tikanga, including karakia, waiata, kapa haka and wānanga .
• A willingness to learn about Ngāti Hine history, whakapapa and aspirations .
• A commitment to culturally safe, mana-enhancing clinical practice.
• A strong understanding of health equity and the inequities experienced by Māori.
• The ability to build trusted relationships with whānau, hapū, iwi, colleagues and communities.
• A genuine commitment to Te Tai Tokerau and an interest in building a lasting connection with the rohe and the people we serve.

You do not need to arrive knowing everything. What matters is a genuine willingness to participate, learn, grow your reo and cultural practice, and work in a way that upholds the mana of Ngāti Hine and our whānau.

What you will bring

Depending on your profession and area of practice, you will have

• Current New Zealand professional registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
• Demonstrated clinical competence within your scope of practice.
• A strong commitment to clinical quality, patient safety and continuous professional development.
• The ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with whānau and colleagues.
• A commitment to evidence-informed practice alongside culturally grounded models of care.
• A desire to contribute to a clinical workforce that is highly skilled, culturally grounded and responsive to the needs of whānau .
