The Global IT Business Relationship Manager serves as the strategic liaison between the Global Information Technology department and the company's business capabilities. This role is responsible for conveying a rationalized technology vision across the organization, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, maximizing the benefits of IT investments, and ensuring existing and evolving innovations are being fully leveraged. The position oversees business relationship management, demand management, prioritization, and portfolio governance to deliver measurable business value. Qualified candidates must be able to work a hybrid schedule at our Bloomington, MN office.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Act as Business Relationship Manager (BRM) and Portfolio Owner for assigned business areas.
  • Convey a rationalized technology vision across the organization and champion innovation adoption.
  • Build and maintain multi-year business roadmaps aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Create a culture of strategic planning and proactive portfolio management.

Demand and Portfolio Management

  • Manage demand intake and facilitate prioritization of initiatives based on business value and strategic alignment.
  • Assist in preparing new project requests, including:
  • Identifying accountable sponsors
  • Defining proposed outcomes and initial business cases
  • Applying standardized appropriateness scoring
  • Estimating resource requirements and costs
  • Identify projects for freeze or cancellation based on leadership criteria and industry best practices.

Operational Excellence

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive IT portfolio plan and roadmap.
  • Oversee budgets and resources estimates across IT portfolio demand and roadmaps.
  • Ensure value delivery and alignment of project outcomes with business expectations.
  • Formalize, track, and resolve business needs through structured intake and governance processes.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate IT project performance, adjusting as needed.
  • Analyze business needs and identify opportunities for IT solutions to improve efficiency and drive business growth
  • Collaborate with senior management and IT teams to align IT strategies with overall business goals

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure strong engagement with business stakeholders to foster collaboration and transparency.
  • Craft effective communication strategies for IT and business audiences.
  • Collaborate with senior management and IT teams to align IT strategies with overall business goals.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of IT solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT portfolio management, business relationship management or similar leadership roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive change across diverse teams and geographies.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, demand management, and strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to manage complex portfolios and prioritize competing initiatives.
  • Experience with budgeting, resource planning, and performance monitoring.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application in business contexts.
  • Broad experience in managing high-risk, high-visibility projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience at a global manufacturing organization

Annual Salary Range: $135,280-$169,100. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to applicable work experience, training, education, performance.
