As a QBHP, you will provide individual, group, family, and other therapeutic services to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. Working under the supervision of a licensed therapist or psychologist, you will assess client needs, contribute to diagnosis and treatment planning, provide evidence-based interventions, and support individuals in achieving their treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, family, and other therapeutic services in a variety of settings under the supervision of a licensed therapist or psychologist.
• Conduct intake, screening, and comprehensive assessments within established regulatory, accreditation, and organizational timeframes.
• Evaluate client needs and document diagnoses in accordance with applicable standards and scope of practice.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client needs, and identified treatment goals.
• Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including counseling, psychotherapy, behavior modification, trauma-focused services, and co-occurring treatment as appropriate.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling, family therapy, psychoeducation, and specialty behavioral health services.
• Participate in clinical staffing, treatment team meetings, and case consultations.
• Maintain an assigned caseload and meet department-specific Collaborative Service Goal (CSG) requirements.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure services are properly authorized and required information is submitted within established timeframes.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation in the electronic health record.
• Ensure clinical documentation supports treatment plans, services provided, and regulatory and accreditation requirements.
• Identify and correct documentation, charting, and file deficiencies within established timeframes.
• Coordinate transitions in care and complete required transition documentation, summaries, plans, and correspondence.
• Provide crisis intervention and participate in or coordinate emergency services when necessary.
• Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients, families, referral sources, coworkers, and community partners.
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance to treatment team members as appropriate.
• Share knowledge of evidence-based practices and provide training or guidance regarding clinical issues within the scope of practice.
• Represent the organization professionally within the community.
• Participate in required supervision, training, professional development, and organizational meetings.
• Maintain compliance with applicable ethical standards, organizational policies, and state and federal regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field from an accredited institution required.
• Experience providing behavioral health or substance use disorder services preferred.
• Experience conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, providing therapy, and/or facilitating behavioral health groups preferred.
• Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred.
• Experience providing services through telehealth preferred.
• Candidates must be able to complete required clinical supervision and experience requirements necessary for professional licensure.

Required License/Certification

• Must meet applicable state requirements for a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider and/or professional behavioral health provider.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain professional licensure through the applicable state licensing board.
• Must complete all required clinical supervision hours and licensing examinations applicable to the individual's professional discipline.
• Must provide current copies of all applicable licenses, certifications, and credentials.
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance required.

Additional Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mental health and/or substance use disorder assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based interventions.
• Knowledge of behavioral health rehabilitation methods, treatment modalities, and recovery-oriented practices.
• Understanding of the challenges experienced by individuals and families affected by mental health and/or substance use disorders.
• Knowledge of applicable legal, ethical, regulatory, and documentation requirements.
• Ability to establish effective therapeutic relationships through in-person, telephone, and telehealth interactions.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise, and clinically appropriate documentation.
• Strong organizational and caseload management skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet established deadlines.
• Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• Ability to accept clinical supervision, feedback, and coaching.
• Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented care.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, telehealth platforms, and other technology used to support clinical services.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain licensure in additional states as required by organizational needs.
• Comfortable providing telehealth services; training will be provided.

Employment Requirements

• Successful completion of background screening, including criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
• Completion of New Hire Orientation upon hire.
• Completion of all required training, including Relias training, upon hire and annually thereafter.
• Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
• Completion of Behavioral Management training within thirty (30) days of employment or at the first available class following the start date:
• CPI for Residential programs.
• Peaceful Intervention or Verbal De-escalation for Outpatient programs.
• Demonstrate understanding of Collaborative Service Goals (CSGs) within thirty (30) days of employment.
• Complete thirty-six (36) hours of required training within a two-year period in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• ASAM Programs: Complete fifty (50) hours of required training annually.
• CPRC: Complete Growth and Development and Privileging and Credentialing forms within thirty (30) days of employment, as applicable.
• Maintain knowledge of the policies, procedures, standards, and regulations applicable to the assigned program.
• Provide copies of all applicable professional licenses, certifications, and credentials.
• Comply with all applicable state, federal, regulatory, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
• School-Based Services: Ability to provide services at assigned school sites during school operating hours when applicable.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform sedentary work, including sitting for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms for typing, clinical documentation, and electronic health record management.
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Ability to travel between office, community, school, and client locations as required by the assigned program.
• Ability to work in office, clinical, school-based, community, and telehealth environments.
• Ability to respond appropriately to crisis situations and follow established safety and intervention procedures.
• Visual ability to read clinical documentation and work on computer screens for extended periods.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through telehealth platforms.
