As a Nurse Manager, you will be an integral member of the nursing leadership team, overseeing the daily operations of nurses, medical assistants, phlebotomy staff, and technicians within your assigned service line. Reporting to the Regional Director of Nursing, you will provide clinical and operational leadership while fostering a supportive environment focused on professional development, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

You will partner with nursing and administrative leadership to optimize workflows, monitor clinical quality, support employee development, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership for nursing, medical assistant, phlebotomy, and technician staff within the assigned service line.
  • Monitor staffing, workflow, and service delivery to promote safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide after-hours on-call support as required by the assigned program.
  • Respond to client and patient concerns by assessing needs and coordinating appropriate interventions.
  • Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, selection, and hiring of departmental staff.
  • Coordinate or delegate onboarding, orientation, training, and competency development for new team members.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings, team check-ins, and individual communication to ensure alignment with departmental goals, priorities, and organizational updates.
  • Complete annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development support.
  • Serve as a resource to clients and patients regarding medication-related questions and needs, including initiating refill requests with appropriate providers in accordance with established procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing teams and administrative leadership.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director and Director of Nursing to evaluate and improve clinical workflows, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead team development initiatives and coordinate ongoing education and training opportunities.
  • Conduct chart audits and clinical documentation reviews for supervised staff as directed.
  • Monitor clinical interventions and identify opportunities to improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes.
  • Compile and report monthly data related to interventions and departmental activities.
  • Monitor documentation and workflow issues and communicate concerns to appropriate leadership in a timely manner.
  • Manage procurement and inventory of medical supplies for the assigned service line.
  • Partner with Human Resources and nursing leadership regarding employee performance concerns, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Prepare counseling memoranda and corrective action documentation as appropriate and in collaboration with leadership and Human Resources.
  • Promote compliance with HIPAA, patient privacy, organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, inclusion, professional development, and continuous improvement.
  • Support organizational initiatives and communicate strategic priorities to department staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Active and unrestricted nursing license as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) required.
  • One (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, behavioral health, community health, or a related clinical setting preferred.
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical support staff preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records, clinical documentation, chart auditing, and healthcare workflows preferred.

Required License/Certification

  • Current and unrestricted LPN or RN license in the applicable state required.
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current automobile insurance required.
  • Must maintain all required professional licenses and certifications throughout employment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong clinical leadership and staff management skills.
  • Ability to provide direction, coaching, and constructive feedback to team members.
  • Strong understanding of patient care, clinical workflows, and healthcare operations.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, protected health information (PHI), confidentiality, and healthcare privacy requirements.
  • Ability to appropriately safeguard confidential patient information through secure documentation, electronic systems, passwords, encryption, and other required security practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret laboratory results, clinical notes, electronic health records, safety procedures, operating instructions, and policy manuals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, employees, providers, and community partners.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and therapeutically in person, by telephone, and through video conferencing.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and implement practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently while accepting direction, supervision, and feedback.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and positive patient experiences.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records, Microsoft Office, and other healthcare technology platforms.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative work environment.

Supervisory Requirements

  • Communicate organizational and departmental goals, priorities, and strategic direction to assigned staff.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to members of the department.
  • Monitor employee performance and promote accountability for departmental and organizational expectations.
  • Participate in recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and development of department staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing performance feedback.
  • Address employee performance and workplace concerns promptly and professionally, utilizing Human Resources guidance when appropriate.
  • Support professional development and identify opportunities for employee growth.
  • Encourage staff participation in achieving individual, departmental, and organizational goals.
  • Communicate organizational changes, department updates, and other important information to team members.
  • Champion process improvements, organizational change, and innovative approaches to service delivery.
  • Promote teamwork and encourage input and collaboration from employees at all levels.
  • Foster a culture of respect, accountability, inclusion, safety, and continuous improvement.

Employment Requirements

  • Successful completion of background screening, including criminal history, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks.
  • Completion of New Hire Orientation upon hire.
  • Completion of all required training, including Relias training, upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Maintain current and unrestricted professional nursing licensure throughout employment.
  • Compliance with all organizational policies, procedures, HIPAA requirements, regulatory standards, and professional ethical guidelines.
  • Ability to participate in after-hours or on-call responsibilities as required by the assigned service line.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly stand and walk throughout the workday.
  • Ability to sit for periods of time as required for administrative, documentation, and supervisory responsibilities.
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle equipment, documents, computer keyboards, and other clinical or office materials.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and perform routine clinical and administrative tasks.
  • Ability to walk and, when necessary, move quickly up and down stairs in response to patient or operational needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication platforms.
  • Requires sufficient close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus for clinical, administrative, and computer-based tasks.
  • Ability to work in clinical, office, and community-based environments as required.
