How you’ll make an impact
As AMP Bank's Fraud & Financial Crime Senior Risk Manager, you will lead the oversight, management and continuous improvement of fraud, scams, AML/CTF and sanctions risk across the customer lifecycle. Working within the first line Risk function, you'll strengthen risk frameworks, enhance controls, identify emerging threats, and drive effective risk-based decision making to protect customers, meet regulatory obligations, and support the Bank's operational resilience and growth ambitions.
You’ll make an impact by
- Lead fraud and financial crime risk management, ensuring frameworks, controls and processes remain effective, compliant and aligned to AMP's risk appetite.
- Identify and respond to emerging threats through risk assessments, monitoring, data analysis and continuous enhancement of detection capabilities.
- Provide trusted risk advice and oversight across business initiatives, platform changes, governance activities and key decision-making forums.
- Manage risk events, assurance activities and regulatory engagement, supporting audits, reporting obligations and remediation outcomes.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement, optimising financial crime processes, strengthening controls and improving customer outcomes.
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in finance, legal, compliance, financial crime or a related field (preferred)
- Proven experience (5+ years) in fraud and financial crime risk management within the banking or financial services industry
- Knowledge and a proven ability to interpret and comply with relevant regulations, compliance standards and industry best practices in fraud and financial crime
- Strong knowledge of fraud detection and transaction monitoring technologies, data analytics, and risk assessment methodologies
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret complex data to detect patterns and trends, translate & drive insights into action
- Ability to balance solving complex problems with fast tactical changes, including being good at knowing where time can be spent most effectively, and making high-quality decisions quickly and with data where appropriate
- Strong communication and written skills with an ability to make the complex comprehensible
- Ability to build relationships across the business and reach compromises to deliver the best outcomes possible
