The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, inspections, and diagnostics on company vehicles and equipment to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and DOT regulations. This role plays a key part in minimizing downtime and keeping the fleet in optimal condition.
Essential Functions

- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake services and inspections.
- Diagnose mechanical issues on light and heavy-duty vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records for repairs, inspections and parts used in accordance with company policy.
- Inspect vehicles to identify safety issues, defects or needed repairs.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain asset cameras, GPS tracking devices, and any other telematics devices.
- Handle and assist with any upfit installations or modifications required by the company. (ex: toolboxes, lighting, decals, etc.)
- Transport company vehicles between locations, repair facilities, or job sites as needed. Assist with moving vehicles for maintenance, inspections, or operational needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Operate company tools and equipment responsibly and safely.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with management and the fleet department regarding vehicle status and needed repairs.
- Perform any other duties or tasks assigned by management to support the needs of the department or company operations.
- Oversee proper outfitting of vehicles with safety and emergency equipment.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical work, automotive logistics, or related field.
- Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate (company-paid).

Work Environment/Hazards
- Springtown, TX
- Primarily warehouse-based with periodic exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, and precipitation.
- Moderate noise level.
Physical Demands
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment.
- Required to sit, stand, and move about warehouse.
- Must be able to communicate via email and telephone.
Working Hours/Days
- Full-time
- Monday through Friday (40 hours/week)
- Nights & weekends as needed

- 0-20% travel required
