QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Architecture and licensed to practice in Québec.
- 10+ years of experience, preferably with projects in the education sector.
- Recognition as an educational planner is considered a strong asset.
- A functional level of English is required, as the successful candidate will be expected to work on initiatives outside Québec, collaborate with colleagues across Canada, and contribute to communications and project work conducted in English.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Regional Market Sector Lead, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success and growth of our Education projects within the Québec region. You will work closely with the Québec Region Managing Principal to support market growth by targeting new client development opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
This role will also be responsible for identifying local client retention strategies and ensuring project-specific goals are achieved and leveraged both regionally and nationally to support the continued growth of the sector.
The role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, and industry thought leadership, with responsibilities including:
Business Rigour & Financial Accountability
- Lead the development and management of Education Sector revenue generation and project development activities within Québec to achieve A49’s financial goals and growth targets.
- Lead the development of hard backlog and net revenue forecasts to support business development growth in accordance with established annual objectives.
- Provide professional architectural seal on drawings and contract documents for projects where you serve as the supervising architect.
Targeted Growth & Brand Enhancement
- Build and evolve the Education Practice in Québec and act as a thought leader within the education sector on behalf of A49.
- Collaborate with other Regional Education Sector Leads to develop strategic plans that support A49’s growth within targeted markets.
- Maintain strong long-term client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Employee Engagement & Alignment
- Support capacity building, training, and mentorship of A49’s regional education resources to deepen expertise within the sector.
- Foster knowledge transfer and succession planning initiatives to ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the Education Practice.
Operational Excellence & Project Quality
- Review monthly operational metrics, including team utilization, project performance, revenue analysis (profit and loss), hard and soft backlog, marketing and business development initiatives, client and consultant invoicing, work in progress, accounts receivable, overhead optimization, client and colleague satisfaction, and overall quality of deliverables.
- Lead major Education projects, as required.
- Contribute to the leadership and ongoing management of A49’s Montréal office.

Annual compensation
- Quebec: $119,900 - $159,200
