Sr. Estimator

Position Title: Senior Estimator

Position Reports To: Regional Manager, Central Estimating

Position Summary

Senior Estimators are responsible for all aspects of bidding a project including l abor, time and materials requirements to determine overall cost of projects. This role is responsible for increasing profitability through comprehensive cost estimating.

Essential Functions

• Interpret s and analyze s contract documents regarding terms, specifications, clarifications, and requirements for each project and prepare estimates and bid proposals.
• Estimate s majority of the work applicable to the respective region or business line, including, target projects and owners list, and managing bid flow.
• Read s and interpret s sophisticated specs and drawings.
• Us es formulas and making calculations.
• Prepare s relevant and reliable forecasts.
• Create s and present s reports to upper management.
• Build s and maintain s positive relationships with the key vendors.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

• 7 + years of industrial services experience preferred
• 3+ y ears of experience reading isometric drawings
• 3+ years of e xperience in estimating industrial services lines of business
• Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Profic ient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team initiatives
• Knowledge in safety procedure implementation is a plus
• Ability to multi-task, managing multiple projects and competing priorities
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
• Critical in managing the business and identifying problems or opportunities
• Demonstrates ability to be flexible and quickly adaptable to changing conditions across all spectrums
• Creative and innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis
• Effective participation in team environment, with both external and internal teammates

Work Conditions / Physical Demands

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
• Light work that includes moving objects up to twenty pounds
• No adverse environmental conditions expected
• Some travel required
