This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Desenvolvedor Backend - Sênior based in Brazil.

This is an opportunity for a senior backend engineer to build and evolve high-impact technology solutions used by thousands of people across <Brazil.You> will work primarily with Java and Spring Boot, developing scalable services and robust integrations in a modern engineering environment.The role combines API development, microservices architecture, database management, automated testing, and domain-driven <design.You> will contribute to technical decisions while applying solid software engineering principles and proven design patterns.The environment values Agile delivery, DevOps practices, collaboration, automation, and strong ownership of the product <lifecycle.You> will work alongside multidisciplinary teams, participating in technical discussions, pair programming, and continuous improvement initiatives.This is a strong fit for an experienced backend professional who enjoys solving complex problems and building reliable, scalable systems.

Accountabilities

Develop and maintain backend solutions using Java 11 through Java 21, ensuring code quality, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Build and evolve applications and services using Spring Boot.
Design and implement REST APIs, including API documentation with Swagger, as well as integrations and SOAP clients.
Develop and maintain solutions using Oracle and MySQL databases.
Create and maintain automated tests using JUnit, Mockito, TDD, and other appropriate testing approaches.
Apply object-oriented programming principles and Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to create robust and maintainable solutions.
Design and implement microservices using appropriate architectural patterns, including Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, and Backend for Frontend (BFF).
Apply SOLID principles and established software design patterns throughout development.
Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and contribute to a collaborative squad culture.
Take ownership of product outcomes while collaborating closely with peers and other business and technical areas.
Contribute to Pair Programming and XP practices to promote knowledge sharing and engineering excellence.
Support a DevOps culture, identifying opportunities for automation and contributing to CI/CD improvements.
Collaborate with technical and product stakeholders to solve problems and continuously improve software delivery.

Requirements

10+ years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in backend engineering.
Advanced proficiency in Java 11–21 and Spring Boot.
Strong experience developing REST APIs, working with Swagger, and creating SOAP clients.
Solid experience with relational databases, particularly Oracle and MySQL.
Hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, automated testing, and TDD.
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
Experience with microservices architecture and patterns such as Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, and Backend for Frontend.
Strong knowledge of SOLID principles and software design patterns.
Familiarity with containers and cloud environments, particularly AWS, is desirable.
Knowledge of Apache web servers and multi-threaded programming is a plus.
Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is desirable.
Experience working within Agile/Squad environments, actively participating in ceremonies and collaborating across teams.
Familiarity with Pair Programming and XP practices.
Understanding of DevOps, automation, and CI/CD principles.
