Harrison Street is seeking to hire an Associate or Sr. Associate within our Infrastructure team that will focuson the firm’s infrastructure investment efforts. Candidates should be self-starters who possess excellentanalytical skills, superior written, research, and oral communication skills, advanced Excel capabilities, anddemonstrated experience building and maintaining complex financial models used for investmentunderwriting, valuation, financing, and asset management decisions. Critical industry skills includeknowledge of the infrastructure sectors, project finance expertise, and overall investment acumen. Theindividual must be able to effectively allocate time between multiple immediate, short-term and mediumtermtasks, meet strict deadlines, and provide analytical support for multiple people within the firm.The position is available in the firm’s Chicago office.
Responsibilities
Build from the ground up, maintain, and take ownership of detailed financial models andvaluation analyses for prospective and existing infrastructure investments, includingunderwriting assumptions, financing structures, sensitivity analyses, and investmentreturns
Lead financial modeling, underwriting, and analytical support for capital calls, financings,dispositions, refinancing opportunities, and capital improvement projects
Support the origination, underwriting, and execution of investments in infrastructure
Manage closed investments and perform related asset management responsibilities
Participate in the annual business plan and quarterly valuation process for existinginfrastructure investments
Prepare investment opportunity proposals, summaries, and approval materials for teamleadership and the firm’s Investment Committee
Drive due diligence efforts relating to investment opportunities, both internally and withthird party consultants and advisors
Participate in the process of identifying and assessing the qualifications of new andprospective operating partners, and support structuring efforts for joint ventures
Interact with joint venture partners on existing and prospective investment opportunities
Support the firm’s research team in the preparation and updating of white papers onspecialty sectors
Serve as a mentor to junior team members at the firm
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is required
- Prior work in private equity or investment banking related to infrastructure investment orfinance with a minimum of 3-6 years’ experienceAssociate, Sr. Associate - Infrastructure
- Advanced financial modeling skills, including demonstrated ability to build, audit, andmaintain complex valuation, project finance, and investment underwriting models
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to draw conclusions from research and data analysis and communicate effectively
- Highly motivated, organized, disciplined and self-directed individual eager to learn allfacets of infrastructure investment
