Senior Engineer - Quality Assurance

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Engineer – Quality Assurance based in India.

This is a remote opportunity for an experienced QA professional to take ownership of quality across a machine-learning-enabled SaaS <platform.You> will help shape new features from requirements through release while strengthening the reliability of existing products.The role combines strategic test planning, hands-on manual testing, automation, defect management, and production quality <analysis.You> will work closely with developers, product teams, business analysts, project managers, and other technology stakeholders.With a high degree of autonomy, you will be encouraged to challenge assumptions, bring new ideas, and influence release decisions through data and <evidence.You> will also help evolve QA standards, frameworks, and processes while exploring emerging technologies and AI-assisted testing approaches.This is a team-oriented environment where ownership, continuous learning, collaboration, and a strong voice in product quality are highly valued.

Accountabilities

Analyze business requirements and end-user feedback to provide timely, actionable input and translate requirements into effective testing approaches.

Develop comprehensive testing strategies and plans covering scope, objectives, techniques, test data, timelines, and execution approaches for new features.

Create detailed test cases, execution reports, defect reports, and other documentation to clearly communicate the quality status of features.

Identify, report, prioritize, and manage defects throughout their lifecycle, collaborating with development and design teams to drive timely resolution.

Determine impacted testing areas and define appropriate regression testing scope, plans, and timelines based on functional changes.

Perform regression, exploratory, planned, and documented testing to validate new functionality and protect existing capabilities.

Plan and implement test automation for features, developing UI- and API-level automation scripts using appropriate testing tools and frameworks.

Evaluate product quality using relevant data and metrics, confidently communicate findings, and provide or withhold release sign-off based on evidence.

Analyze production defects and identify systematic improvements that can prevent similar issues from recurring.

Collaborate across technology, development, product, and business teams to continuously improve application quality, reliability, and performance.

Contribute to the evolution of QA strategies, testing standards, processes, coding practices, and automation frameworks.

Assess the QA implications of new technologies and identify opportunities to improve testing effectiveness and efficiency.

Leverage AI-assisted tools for intelligent test-case generation, improved test coverage, risk-based planning, code review support, and optimization of manual and automated testing activities.

Requirements

• Graduate or postgraduate qualification with proven professional experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering.
• 4–7 years of experience in software Quality Engineering or a closely related QA discipline.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, testing tools, processes, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with test case management and defect management tools.
• Practical experience with both manual and automated testing, including UI and API automation.
• Strong analytical, logical reasoning, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to interpret requirements, assess risk, identify impacted areas, and design appropriate testing strategies.
• Experience using metrics and evidence to communicate quality risks and support release decisions.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted testing tools and the ability to apply AI effectively to improve testing coverage and efficiency.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate across technical and business teams.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, question the status quo, and make informed recommendations.
• Curious and adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies and evaluate their practical application.
• Team-oriented approach, including a willingness to share knowledge, support colleagues, receive constructive feedback, and turn feedback into process improvements.
