About The Role
Job Summary
The role is part of the NAM HSE Compliance team and leads DOT and transportation compliance across the Geozone. The position governs driver qualification, Hours of Service, applicable oilfield exemptions, vehicle and trailer compliance, and related regulatory records; interprets DOT and PHMSA requirements; and coordinates communications with government agencies. The role analyzes transportation incidents, telematics, and compliance data to identify risk, direct corrective actions, and report performance. It also leads the evaluation, implementation, and improvement of fleet compliance technology for light- and heavy-duty vehicle operations.
Responsibilities
Lead and govern NAM DOT and transportation compliance activities, including driver qualification, Hours of Service, applicable oilfield exemptions, vehicle and trailer requirements, recordkeeping, and compliance assurance.
Interpret DOT and PHMSA regulations, evaluate regulatory changes, establish compliance expectations, and communicate requirements to operational and functional stakeholders.
Direct driver qualification monitoring, file reviews, and compliance audits; identify deficiencies, assign corrective actions, and verify closure.
Oversee driver and vehicle safety, journey management, and transportation performance reporting for light- and heavy-duty fleet operations.
Lead transportation compliance reviews and investigations by analyzing incidents, telematics, driver behavior, and regulatory data to identify trends and drive preventive and corrective actions.
Govern transportation compliance systems and lead fleet technology evaluation, implementation, data validation, system reconciliation, and continuous improvement.
Represent Weatherford in transportation compliance communications with government agencies and other external regulatory stakeholders, as required.
Develop, maintain, and improve HSE processes, procedures, systems, and training requirements related to DOT and transportation compliance.
Skills/Education Required
- 2 + years of practical DOT experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power BI, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze compliance data and develop clear performance reporting.
- Strong knowledge of DOT and PHMSA requirements, driver qualification, Hours of Service, applicable oilfield exemptions, and dangerous goods transportation compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations, establish compliance expectations, assess risk, and direct corrective actions across operational and functional teams.
- Experience leading transportation compliance programs, driver qualification reviews, audits, investigations, regulatory recordkeeping, and agency communications.
- Working knowledge of fleet, telematics, IVMS, ELD, and driver qualification systems, including governance, data validation, and system reconciliation.
- Strong organizational, project management, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
Skills/Education Preferred
- Experience with systems integration
- Experience supporting fleet technology evaluation or implementation for light- and heavy-duty vehicles
- Understanding of regulatory requirements within the United States, Canada and Caribbean for both light and heavy-duty vehicles
- Practical fleet safety experience for both light and heavy-duty vehicles
Travel Requirement
This role may require domestic travel of up to: 25-50%
