About The Role

Laser Cutting Technician – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Build What Matters. Run the Technology Behind It.

We're looking for a Laser Cutting Technician to join our sheet metal fabrication team. This is more than simply loading and unloading a machine. You'll operate advanced laser cutting equipment, transform raw sheet metal into precision components, and play an important role in producing the products our customers rely on.

If you enjoy working with machinery, solving problems, working with your hands, and seeing a finished product come together, this is an opportunity to build valuable manufacturing skills while working in a fast-paced production environment.

What You'll Do

  • Operate CNC laser cutting equipment to accurately cut sheet metal components according to customer and production requirements.
  • Set up and prepare laser equipment for production runs, including loading material and verifying machine settings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and production specifications.
  • Verify material type, thickness, dimensions, and part requirements before and during production.
  • Inspect completed parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Monitor machine performance and make appropriate adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
  • Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, material, and production issues.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Safely handle sheet metal and finished components using appropriate material-handling equipment.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety and 5S standards.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance as required.
  • Communicate production, quality, material, and equipment issues to the appropriate team members.
  • Work closely with other members of the fabrication team to keep production moving efficiently.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.

What Makes Someone Successful in This Role

You don't have to know everything on day one. We're looking for someone who is mechanically minded, dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.

You may be a great fit if you

  • Enjoy working with machines, tools, and equipment.
  • Have experience in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or production.
  • Can read a tape measure and understand basic measurements.
  • Are comfortable reading drawings or willing to learn.
  • Pay attention to details and take pride in producing quality work.
  • Can identify when something doesn't look or operate correctly.
  • Work well independently but are also a strong team player.
  • Are comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Are willing to learn new equipment and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment.
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, press brakes, punches, or other fabrication equipment.
  • Blueprint or mechanical drawing experience.
  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.
  • Manufacturing or machining experience.

Experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the workday.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components.
  • Ability to safely handle sheet metal and manufactured components.
  • Ability to work around industrial machinery and manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ready to Build Your Next Career?
  • If you're mechanically inclined, enjoy working with equipment, and want an opportunity to develop your manufacturing skills, we want to meet you.
  • Apply today and become part of the team turning raw metal into precision products.
