The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior or Associate Electrical Engineer - BESS & Electrical Systems to join our growing Power & Energy team and support a rapidly expanding portfolio of renewable energy projects across Australia.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role can be based in any of WSP's East Coast offices and offers the flexibility of a hybrid working model.
You will play a key role in the delivery of complex BESS and electrical engineering projects, supporting renewable energy clients across the full project lifecycle, from development and due diligence through to design, construction, and commissioning. Working closely with a team of highly regarded specialists, you'll contribute to technically challenging projects while helping strengthen client relationships and supporting the continued growth of our renewables business.

How You'll Make an Impact
- Lead an/or support the delivery of BESS and electrical engineering solutions for renewable energy projects across Australia.
- Drive the successful delivery of Owner's Engineer (OE), Technical Due Diligence (TDD), electrical design, and advisory services.
- Contribute to the preparation of proposals and tenders, helping to develop compelling value propositions and supporting strong win rates.
- Act as Project Lead across a range of renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects.
- Support business planning, financial performance, and growth initiatives within the Renewables team.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Chartered status with Engineers Australia is highly regarded. For Associate-level applicants, Chartered status is required.
- 6+ years' experience within the power industry, including significant exposure to BESS and HV systems.
- Experience operating at either Senior Engineer or Associate level within a consulting engineering environment.
- Demonstrated leadership experience across renewable energy and BESS projects.
- Strong understanding of OE, TDD, design, and advisory engagements.
- Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development activities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative and approachable technical leader who enjoys mentoring others, building strong relationships, and contributing to team success.
