About The Role

Job Overview

  • Installation : Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air handlers, chillers, boilers, and rooftop units
  • Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters, inspecting and replacing worn or damaged parts, and checking refrigerant levels
  • Repair : Diagnose and repair malfunctions, including electrical and mechanical faults
  • Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC system malfunctions
  • Record keeping : Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and service calls
  • Customer service : Explain maintenance procedures to customers and provide recommendations for system upgrades or replacements as well as provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to service requests and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Compliance : Ensure compliance with appliance standards and OSHA
  • Emergency repairs : Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
  • Growth: Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices, participating in training and professional development opportunities as needed

Essential Duties

  • Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and replacing filters and inspecting equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions using specialized tools and equipment
  • Test and balance HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repair work
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations
  • Must be able to lift, move, and maneuver heavy equipment and components weighing up but not limited to 100 lbs., including lifting units and materials onto rooftops via ladders
  • Must be able to travel out of state with limited notice for emergency tickets

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in HVAC technology or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as an HVAC technician, with a strong background in installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC systems
  • Universal EPA certification required; additional certifications (e.g., NATE, R-410A) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including design, installation, and troubleshooting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor in a fast-paced environment, including climbing, lifting, and working at heights
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, customers, and vendors
  • Class E Drivers License
