Role Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a Document and Data Controller to join our Defence & Security team based in Homebush, NSW. Reporting to the Quality Systems Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, security, compliance, and lifecycle management of project documentation and controlled data across our Defence programs.

This role is ideal for someone with 2 to 5 years of experience in document control, data management, quality systems, technical administration, or a related discipline who enjoys working in a structured and compliance-focused environment.

Description

In this role, I will

  • Manage and maintain digital and physical document repositories, ensuring information is controlled and accessible.
  • Support the lifecycle management of documents including creation, review, release, archival, and disposal.
  • Review and quality check documentation for accuracy, formatting, grammar, compliance, and consistency.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on document control processes and systems.
  • Respond to project documentation requests from customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Support compliance with Defence Security requirements, ITAR regulations, and internal quality management processes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 to 5 years' experience in document control, records management, quality administration, technical editing, or a related discipline.
  • Experience managing controlled documentation within a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written communication and proofreading skills.
  • Experience using document management systems, SharePoint, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across project teams.
  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite at our Homebush, NSW facility, five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting Defence, Government, Aerospace, Aviation, Manufacturing, or Engineering programs.
  • Experience administering SharePoint or document control systems.
  • Familiarity with ITAR, Export Controls, Defence Security requirements, or ISO quality frameworks.
  • Experience developing document templates, procedures, or work instructions.

Security requirements

As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance to work in this role – please be mindful to obtain a clearance, one of the main requirements is you must be an Australian Citizen.

Location

Homebush, NSW

This position is based on site at our Homebush facility five days per week. Candidates should be located within a reasonable commuting distance and willing to travel to site daily.
