About The Role

The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and drive comprehensive community engagement strategies to secure public support for urban renewal projects and the Authority's mission
  • Cultivate robust relationships with key stakeholders, including Legislative Council and District Council members, concern groups, opinion leaders, government departments and NGOs etc.
  • Lead the team to plan and execute impactful community programmes that enhance stakeholder engagement and promote corporate branding
  • Monitor local political dynamics and gather community intelligence to proactively mitigate potential risks related to urban renewal initiatives
  • Coordinate and facilitate replies to enquiries, requests and complaints received from various stakeholders in a timely manner
  • Provide logistic and secretarial support to District Advisory Committees (DAC) and gather the views of DAC members on various urban renewal initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree holder in Journalism, Communications or related fields
  • Minimum 10 years’ full-time experience in engaging local community members and stakeholders
  • Solid experience in driving community programmes end to end, from planning to implementation
  • Owns a strong network with local stakeholders, including Legislative Councilors, District Councilors, concern groups, key opinion leaders, government departments and NGOs, etc.
  • Able to build relationships and effectively work with community members and stakeholders
  • Capable of assessing data, identifying social and community trends and make data-driven decisions or recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to identify challenges and develop practical solutions in a proactive manner
  • Willingness to adapt to changing environments and job responsibilities when community needs evolve
  • Strong leadership, time and resources management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and command of verbal and written Chinese and English
  • Proficiency in computer skills. Mastering generative AI tools is a definite advantage
