Site Coordinator

About The Role
Employer is a Vancouver-based construction company specializing in design-build general contracting and development consulting. They partner with government and non-profit organizations to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and innovative building solutions. Their projects range from multi-family housing to institutional and commercial developments.
They are seeking a Foreman / Skilled Labourer to join their dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting construction projects by ensuring quality workmanship, efficient site operations, and effective coordination of daily site activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on carpentry, framing, installation, repair, demolition, and general construction work as required.
- Lead and work alongside a small site crew to complete assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
- Follow daily work plans and instructions provided by the Project Coordinator, Project Manager, or designated management personnel.
- Assign and clearly communicate daily tasks, priorities, timelines, and quality expectations to crew members.
- Supervise workers, monitor productivity, and ensure work is completed correctly and safely.
- Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Identify deficiencies and provide clear direction for corrective action.
- Report safety concerns, construction issues, delays, damaged materials, or supply shortages.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, completed work, and outstanding items.
- Take site photos and provide basic written or verbal progress reports.
- Identify practical solutions to routine site challenges and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment use, site access, cleanup, and task sequencing.
- Safely use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
- Assist with the operation of small construction equipment when qualified and authorized.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Support subcontractors and other site personnel as required.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and communicate any unresolved issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English; Mandarin is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lead Carpenter, Skilled Labourer, Assistant Foreman, Painter, or in a related construction role.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional training or certification in carpentry, framing, or a related construction trade is an asset.
- Experience leading or supervising a small crew.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete work on schedule.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify practical solutions.
- Reliable, physically fit, and capable of performing demanding construction work.
- Proficient in the safe use of hand tools and power tools.
- Valid driver's licence is preferred.
- Experience in site labour or site coordination is considered an asset.
- Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 per year
